My mom has an 07 v6 and although it is quick, that valve timing bullshit takes too long to let the engine kick in full throttle, you won't have that problem with an STI. If people would do some research they would see that the 2008+ Accord 6 speed run's 13.90's with a trap speed in the 101-103 range right there with the STi in terms of traps. Of course the STi gets a better ET simply because of its superior AWD traction.

So your basically racing a normal 4 cylinder. if the subaru driver wasnt retarded he would have downshifted to get the engines rpms hi so the turbo actually provided boost. rae would have gone much differently. so yeah, this is the driver sucking.

unless you run slicks on your accord daily, there is NO WAY you'll ever take an evo or wrx/sti off a red light. of course, if they had no idea about you racing them, you'll win cause they dont care to race an accord. both of the cars make more torque than your honda motor. i know because i used to own a wrx and now own an accord.
i don't understand why so many people are complaining/ getting but hurt about a Honda Accord v6 beating an STI from a roll. yes, it happened. yes, it's possible. At those speeds all you do is put your foot down which isn't very hard to do.
I know it's just a magazine, but it gives a basic idea... I have a mag test of an 08' Accord V6 Coupe (6 Speed) and it trapped 102.7 mph in the 1/4 mile during this test. So I can see how it would be fast from a roll. I know the WRX would take it off the line with it's awd though.
You also have to consider that the suburu is carrying 2 people! Thats an extra 150 lbs at least so it will slow it down a little more. I have a 08 accord coupe V6 and its fast but I'd be surprised if I beat a subaru that is lighter with more power and torque.

FACT: sti 1/4 is 13.0, the accords is 13.9. FACT the sti handles better and has better breaks bone stock than the honda. FACT the 2.5L turbo boxer takes mods better than the 3.5L vtec. FACT AWD can handle increased horsepower better than FWD (read torque steer).

If people would do some research they would see that the 2008+ Accord 6 speed run's 13.90's with a trap speed in the 101-103 range right there with the STi in terms of traps. Of course the STi gets a better ET simply because of its superior AWD traction.

you realize that since the sti started at a roll at 65 mph the revs are so low the turbo doesnt spool. So your basically racing a normal 4 cylinder. if the subaru driver wasnt retarded he would have downshifted to get the engines rpms hi so the turbo actually provided boost. rae would have gone much differently. so yeah, this is the driver sucking.

The accord is automatic so he just pushed his foot on the pedal and didnt have to think about gears turbo lag or his power band, the computer did it for him. Also the difference between an NA lancer/impreza vs their turbo counterparts is way more than just there being a turbo added on. Did you realize those engines are pushing all 4 wheels?

They do not shift anywhere near as aggressively as a driver with the 6mt can. And all of the automatic V6 accords have cylinder deactivation to net better mpg IE (kills power)

I use to sell Honda's and that Accord is butt ugly and mainly a chic car cause of the coupe. But to beat a Subaru.....maybe the Subaru guy was high on weed from Jamaica or something. I know it's just a magazine, but it gives a basic idea... I have a mag test of an 08' Accord V6 Coupe (6 Speed) and it trapped 102.7 mph in the 1/4 mile during this test. So I can see how it would be fast from a roll. I know the WRX would take it off the line with it's awd though.
