  • It is all about selling your product. Maybe the idea was from an ad for baseball but it suited the ipl ad and the song.

  • I saw i think parsoon pandey the director of this ad commenting on a very good cnbc TV serial called story Board. This guy should doesnt even deserve a space on such a good program to defend his team of hopeless creators. This add in a sense is a mix of song + splash which i think is new to indian television. I think these guys would pass on since not many people in india would know about the rip off. But there agency should be banned. BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!11

  • Well, its interesting. But this Fox ad is 5 years old! Guess who copied the ad? Did IPL copy it? Hard to tell, but by the looks of it Fox certainly couldnt have copied the ad 5 years back when the concept of IPL didnt even exist leave alone the ad!

  • who ever is trying to defend this is really a big fan of anu malik and rajesh roshan! both openly copies songs/movies and earn a hit label ! loll ... this ad is a pure copy ! F the brush tools n stuff .. simple EYES can say its a clean RIP OFF ! i was actually excited when i saw the ad n amazed how indian adv is getting better n smarter but its a shame how easily you copy and claim it MY ORIGINAL work !

  • I think niharsaqib is right as only the splash seems to be the similar, the rest looks quite different, if looked closely. Baseball might've been the inspiration but its not a rip off or blatant copy...IPL ad is in no way rajesh roshan-ed kinda stuff. The best part about the IPL promo is the song 'karmyudh', hope thats 100% original.

    But I hadn't even seen this baseball commercial till you put it on You tube, and have just confirmed with my animator E. Suresh of Famous Studios, neither had he.

    At the same point of time, the splash can neither be anybody's property nor is it the idea of the IPL commercial. IPL'S idea is in the Veer Ras audio track. The splash is only a visual punctuation in the larger imagery.
