This is a very nice version, which I've just heard for the first time. It's interesting that Rose-Marie, David Alexander and Joe Dolan all turned in such strong readings of the Burt Bacharach-Bob Hilliard song, originally introduced by Del Shannon in 1961, as a B-side. Four fine versions by markedly different performers. It's surprising that this song was neglected in in the U.S.A., despite Bacharach's enormous 60's success and influence.

Whilst I like some of Joe Dolans songs, his version of this song is not the best. With regard to Rose Marie, she's little better than a pub singer. The best version is the original, although D. Alexanders cover takes some beating.

Funny isn't it, as peoples opinions and perceptions change with time. When i was 17 i worked for my uncle Alan and he used to drop me off at night in the car, and he used to drive me mad with Rose Marie playing at full blast. Only Now do i appreciate her wonderfull voice at 42.... 25 years later...... Well you know what they say.... Better late than never.lol.

Joe Dolan done a good version of this but my favourite is David Alexanders version, both singers sadly no longer with us. Sadly David singing it live has been removed from u tube due to copyright issues.
