  • this is easily my favorite song ever written... it is truly amazing, the sound, the vocals, the kick up when the chorus begins... truly amazing..... but what the fuck is up with this video????

  • @seandiggitious The video is visionary: what Trevor wrote has become since then reality: junk GMO food, plastic surgery, stupidication and common intellectual poverty - you can carry on with those phenomena without an end: this is truly the postmodern, plastic age!

  • Have loved this since I was a kid and the whole album is brill, not just "Video Killed the Radio Star."

  • Great stuff..used to watch 'Hollywood Heartbeat' all the time..and it WAS my first introduction to The Buggles....

  • I believe Geoff Downes can fly.

(With the help of a Prophet 5.)

  • Stunning song! Why wasn't this a bigger hit as Video killed the radio star??....

  • 2 people prefer the paper age over the plastic age

  • thumbs up if the yellow gloves made you think of "big black wet asses"

  • great song i grew up with buggles they had great music catchy music jus BRILLL

  • Use to luv Bobs music and I think this might of been the first song on MTV..There song that was the big hit was Video Killed the Radio Star...

  • trevor, i love you man

  • Really cool video! Totally New Wave, with a lot of unexpected moments.

Great song too, I haven't heard the album but this definitely makes me want to investigate it.

  • @Jarren202 The remastered CD of this album came out a year or two ago and it was very nicely done with some extra tracks.

  • @Jarren202 One of the greatest albums ever made,I play it on a very regulat basis.

  • Geoff Downes in skintight vinyl… Not too shabby.

The first LP was perfect; the second would have been if they hadn’t used that drum machine. I wasn’t a great fan of the Fairlight either.

  • I love the way that their vision of the future involves Marigold gloves

  • The whole "The Age of Plastic" album is great.

  • I love that Dr. Zoidberg says a couple words at the end of the video. ;-D

  • He s living in the Plastic Age all right... Look at is awsome sunglasses...

  • Ronnie Corbets got an amazing voice ;)

  • @expurgatetor

Okay, I give up. I know Geoff Downes and Trevor Horne, but who is Ronnie?

  • @morrisonAV - look up "The Two Ronnies'- an old BBC comedy duo, you'll have a laugh!

  • @kelsman59

I'm familiar with The Two Ronnies, but what did they have to do with The Buggles? Just curious.

  • Comment removed

  • @morrisonAV nothing lol but a certain physical resemblance between a younger Trevor Horne and a much younger Ronnie Corbett.

  • This song was prophetic we're in the Plastic Age now!

  • im gonna track down that one person and punch him in the face!!!

  • Trevor Horn OBE - for services to 40-something men reliving their youth...

  • This was one of my favorite videos. Egads, I remember the launch of MTV Video Killed the Radio Star. I liked this song better, Thanks for putting this up.

  • wow i haven't seen this is decades a club in allentown used to get all these vids and show them a million years ago

  • 3:18 FUTURAMA

  • i grew up listning to 80s music not the fag bieber

  • Love the CGI.

  • look at this

    no dislikes! yeah

  • How old is Trevor Horn?

  • @androide675 he is 61

  • What a treasure...and a treat

  • I always liked this track slightly more than "video killed the radio star". Probably because it's not played on t' radio to death hah :P

  • Buggles are reuniting in West London on 9/28/10 for a one-off show. If you live in the UK, Lucky!!

  • Anybody else watch this and think of Brave New World?

  • Fantastic. Was this the offical music video or filmed for the show? Buggles were so ahead of their time it's almost scary.

  • @johnlovesbridge Yes, as far as I know, this was the original label-produced music video for their debut album.

  • @morrisonAV You are correct; that was indeed the official video.

  • @johnlovesbridge Well its not as good as Girls on film but yeah, I get it.It wasn't directed by Russell Mulcahy either.

  • @johnlovesbridge This was the video

  • It's a shame no one really knows this album

  • I love videos from the 80's.

  • @ftsjr Me too. Thanks for visiting my channel!!

    Dave

  • i find it amazing. Record companies are losing money and want new revenue streams. Idea! Sell music videos to the public, people can choose from their catalog. It makes too much sense!

  • FANTASTIC, SO GOOD!!!

  • This video is really a pleasant surprise

  • No one cared for this song, but i Do

  • @opedroefeio I get his messages in his music I tell people he sings against too much modernsation.Depending on plastics.cheap plastic . Just like video killed the raideo star Perhaps Trevor was ahead of his time.

  • Cool song

  • whats the song about? i think its about plastic surgery. i think, could someone tell me what the song and vid are about?

  • Definitely one of their best, and what a catchy tune this one has!

  • The Age of Plastic album was awesome... too bad the band didn't stick together for long.

  • goeff downes went on to form asia, check out asia's first album, its real

good, the album tracks are better than the singles they put out.

  • 1979-Trevor has hit with "Video Star"--1980 Trevor joins Yes and quits because of hippies throwing beer bottles and screaming for him to get off the stage--1983--Trevor produces Yes and makes millions for everybody involved. I have always found this very intriguing. Oh yeah, AND in 1984 he produces "Frankie Goes to Hollywood" and makes millions for them, too. Amazing. BTW-I never get tired of this cheesy, but fun video.

  • @pazzensutra You forgot to mention that Geoff Downes was also a member of Yes in 1980; Both Yes and The Buggles were managed by Brian Lane.

  • An all time fave :)

  • 2:43 i love him ;)

  • Fantastic group, I simply adore the bass lines.

  • I'm A HUGE Fan Of The Buggles.

    Their Songs Are Awsome!

  • Underrated

  • i totally agree

  • good

  • "...They send the heart police to put you under cardiac arrest..." classic lyrics. Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes were great together, even in their days with "Yes." Buggles was a band ahead of its time...their version of "I Am a Camera" is tremendous!

  • @Hairmetallurgist The Yes version of I Am A Camera is better; it was called Into The Lens. I don't like the drum machine in The Buggles version.

  • my favourite , bob welch=genious a lot of messages in this video and song love them

  • @gangrenahumana How come Bob Welch intro's the video?

  • this music video reminds me of nickelodean(the tv channel) back in the 90s or early 00s for some reason

  • Sweeeeeeeeet! :D

  • 3:32 kid in yellow suit looked like Bowie in album cover art for LOW(1977)

  • nostalgia...1980

  • Favorite music video of all time!

  • Great Gadfrey, it's Hollywood Heartbeat with Bob Welch! I haven't seen that since it first aired. 5 videos per show, most of them cool new wave tunes I'd never seen performed before. Thank god somebody thought to tape 'em!

  • the obligeratory late 70's, early 80's white room!

  • lol That white room was reponsible for a great deal of fun videos. That and five dollars worth of rubber gloves.lol

  • You're welcome. I wish I could upload all of my videos but YouTube has blocked some of them.

  • It's not YouTube's fault... some of the record companies are being real assholes.

Thanks for the video, I've been looking for this one for a while.

  • @morrisonAV justin bieber fans are running YouTube!!!!!!

  • @morrisonAV Who gives a fat rats arse if we don't see any more Phil Collins anyway.

  • thank you so much
