I agree about the undiversity, but CA's state schools are extremely diverse and superior to most others states academically.
UCs are for the students who bust their ass academically in high school. If that ends up being white and asian because they studied the hardest, its tough to penalize them for trying hard.

I agree about the undiversity, but CA's state schools are extremely diverse and superior to most others states academically.
UCs are for the students who bust their ass academically in high school. If that ends up being white and asian because they studied the hardest, its tough to penalize them for trying hard.
I hear your frustration though. If you're at UCSD, do this: know that 90% of UCSD students are tools, live at SDSU, go to UCSD for class & then leave asap. Worked for me.
