  • They will inhere... the dormant fear in maaaaaan!

  • better than sex or better having sex with that song playing...sperm

  • the music industry has everything half ass backwards its so sad.

  • one of my fave all time metal LPs , fuck the media they dont promote good music this shit is what should go up in history - grammy awards

  • Awesome change at 1:00

  • False guardian I will compel false as the

    fear of heaven and hell

I should have known its all a mirage just as well

The power of good will not be shown by

    conquering fear

Let it be known its a constant resist

    Til your transformation

  • Oh guardian predestination calls

Silent wind I felt what you said

    Soon I'm exhumed for consummation

He charmed my soul with his book of the dead

He read it said bear no children

They will inhere the dormant fear in man

Sovereign the force more than emotion

It controls your destiny at hand

  • Fav. song by early Fates Waring!

  • People...you are retarded...stop equating this to progressive metal and just fucking listen.

  • @kenatboynton

Ha ha, you only listen to Metal, the inferior version of what I listen to - PROGRESSIVE Metal! That means you are inferior to me and my massive intellect. I am not sure what Progressive Metal actually is and why it cannot be called just Metal? But if I put Progressive in front of it, wallah I am instantly better than you because my music is progressive and yours is just plain. Because we know music preference, race and gender are identifiers of worth :) :(

  • look keep everything by fates warning... this wont come again ever..plz hold and keep it after apocolyple we will need this

  • Watch the movie they actually give insight to there satanic secrets!

  • Wow I cant believe I missed the Eye of Baal or eye of Horus or eye of Lucifer not satan because there are over 200 of those angels.Like the movie City of angels with Nichols Cage, where all the black robed angels are watching the sun.The Sun by the way is the main diety in satanic worship ! those are the satanic angels the movie puts a spin on who they really are.By the way Nichols like saint Nick or Nick being another slang name for Satan. Thats how many syncros you'll find in all of this!

  • @infonator1 What, in the album art?

  • John Arch rules.

  • YEAH this band kicks ass! Love the vocals <3

  • Simply put....The lyrics and Vocals make this just amazing....Lyrics remind me of old School Rush...But the Vocals just are amazing

  • @MrEpiclyrandom That's quite true, but I wouldn't quite say that this album was consistently prog, just in bits and pieces. In my opinion, prog rock and heavy metal have always been crossing influences, but they didn't quite finally join to make one unique style until about the mid to late 1980's with bands like Fates, Queensryche (although that's kind of debatable), Watchtower, Dream Theater, and Sieges Even. Prog is more about experimentation and progression than technical wizardry.

  • @MrEpiclyrandom There is definitely some prog influences here, but I'm not quite sure if it's true prog metal yet. I think that Fates first true prog metal album was Perfect Symmetry, which I consider to be their best album. Awaken is way up there too, probably my second favorite overall.

  • There was a time period a few years ago when i pretty much worshiped everything John Arch sang. His lyrics are so amazing, and his voice is my favorite. The way he deliver the lines....He is a SUCH badass singer who doesnt get the credit he deserves.

  • THIS IS TRUE POWER METAL

    us power metal rules

  • So this is american power metal....I see..

  • @MrEpiclyrandom I didn't say it needed wankery and 20 minute guitar solos. Prog Metal to me means experimentation in different styles/instrumentation, and unusual melodic structures. Tempo changes and complex rhythms are a dime a dozen in metal.

In this song, I hear very little to set them apart from Sabbath or Maiden. In fact, most of the song sounds like one or the other band.

In any event, I've never heard any of Nevermore's work, and if Mastodon is Prog, I'm the Queen of England.

  • this album is a lesson in history and lore.my favorite album ever

  • i would have to say the best song wrote by metal church would be beyond the black just my opinion. ftes warning kicks ass right up there with iron

  • This band makes awesome prog metal

  • @ebeaver15 Decent metal, sure. But I'm not hearing any prog.

  • at 5:00 you get smashed with awesome

  • Distant vision tempting water fall to my knees I'm going to drink it dry. Blazing desert sun reflection on the water He caught my eye Up in a tree looking at me vulture of fear why don't you go away He said you're mine one day Spit out the sand of the mirage Be on your way

  • If you like this try some Metal Church. Badlands, best song they wrote. So good!

  • I get a big Helloween vibe from this song.

  • great tune...one of mine Fav bands........drinking Scaldis Noel....makes goooooood

  • Arcana awaits you!

  • I think I am starting to really like this album.

  • 5:00.kick ass vocal melody.whaaaaa aaaah ooh oohh oohh ooh oooh oooh!

  • one of the great metal songs of all time.

  • this voice is one of a kind!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Arcana awaits...

  • This song is awesome! Really mystical it it's atmosphere. Reminds me of my holiday in Egypt 6 years ago!

  • @slim22rj you're gay

  • @slim22rj

Just a matter of taste, apparently not yours, but looking on your channel I can also say you haven't got a clue of true music.

  • @slim22rj metal is a art thats is not understood to the weak minded

  • That chorus... Oh that chorus... No words can describe that chorus...

  • @Peter31095Metalhead "Exodus ascend the plane....." I can´t get enough of that chorus^^

  • @xgreaterbash Picked up the cassette used back in the mid 80s and was blown away. I wish they had toured the west coast with John Arch. Hopefully he'll put another project together. The Twist of Fate album was awesome.

  • This song is fucking awesome! i love the rhythm patterns and time changes!

  • amazing song!

  • It's 3.40am, and I've got class at 8.30. I can't stop listening to these guys. I'm planning to buy this album, No Exit, and Perfect Symmetry. I've gotta get to bed. :(

  • Anacrusis was another excellent progressive metal band.

  • no, they're pretty dull

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh HEY MORE BANDS LIKE THISSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • If Dream Theater had any fucking integrity they would take these guys on tour with them and tell everyone that Fates warning was the original prog. metal band.

  • petrucci and portnoy already said that

  • I know. In a one off interview. The point was that DT should let FW co-headline.

  • Queensryche did a tour a few years ago where Dream Theater and Fates Warning opened. It was an awesome show!!

  • @vaporarrows I AGREE

  • Fates Warning... and Prog Metal in general is so underrated

  • It would be nice to see it live! Anyone?

  • would be but it's not going to happen :(

  • Best Fates song, along with Ivory gate of dreams of course..

  • I've never really listened 2 anything like this...it's pretty good!

    *****

  • Awesome song LOVE IT!

  • such an amazing singer

  • Far beyond the prophecy of tyrant guardians!

  • i think this band is underated for one reason everyone in the band is freakin fantastic musicians and lets face it theres alot more popular bands that play easy to learn tripe that peeps can just straight out dance to in other words you dont have to concentrate on the music just get drunk and go "woo party" so bands like fates warning dont get recognised and get ignored by garage bands because the stuffs to hard for them to play and they just wanna get laid lol.anyways great band great song.

  • JOHN ARCH!

  • THE BEST.

  • By far!

  • Great lyrics.

    'Distant vision tempting water

fall to my knees I'm going to drink it dry. Blazing desert sun reflection on the water

    He caught my eye

Up in a tree looking at me

vulture of fear why don't you go away

He said you're mine one day

Spit out the sand of the mirage

    Be on your way

  • @67meangreen67 Love this song.

Dig this line and the scream that comes before this section.

"The power of good will not be shown by conquering fear

Let it be known its a constant resist

    While facing transformation"

  • I miss Headbangers Ball From the 80's

  • john arch = best of the best

  • Best song to listen too when you are all fucked up !! Rock on Fates Warning !!
