Jim - a little of both - some things are cheaper at home depot, some things are available at the marine store only. see my post on sunfish forums for a list of materials: go to sailingforums . com and search for sunfish hull repair and my post listing materials will come up. (youtube wont let me post a link)
Great job here, Doug! I just put a gash in the bottom of my sunfish, and this is exactly what I needed to see! Must I get the materials at a marine shop, or can I find these sorts of materials elsewhere? ... Jim
Scotty - it s a judgement call based on size and location - what i learned about fiberglass and epoxy is that its damn strong even in small doses. you may very well be successful fixing it the way you suggest as long as you overlap onto the adjacent edge enough.
