Hey everyone. Here's a small thesis I have. When it comes to the time in which the story occurs, it is easy to come up with the date. The story possibly begins in the early 1980 or 1990's. (Mainly due to the look of the cars and houses). Louis is 12 at around either 1992, or 2002. From the look of the characters in the future, and the age of Wilbur the Older Lewis and his wife is around 43, aka it's about 2030-2040. Bud and Lucille are about 70-80. I hope my thesis is correct. :) Enjoy

@AShadowofU Actually, they state for a fact that the scenes set in the future are in the year 2037, and the scenes set in the present are set in 2007, the year the movie came out. That means Older Lewis/Cornelius is 42,Franny is probably around 40, and Lewis was born in 1995, which means that's the year the scenes in the past are set in. :) It also means Cornelius was 29 and Franny 27 when Wilbur was born ( Wilbur would have been born in 2024 ).

I don't think they surpasses the old ones as the old ones had their style and the newer ones have a new type of comedy in them. Remember that society as evolve, so did the movies.

This one is hilarious compares to some of the newer ones but some of the older one styll manage to surpasses it in their style.

Even though this is a kids movie, it was GREAT!!! For once there are no elves, wizards, prophecies, and demonic rings! AWESOME. I totally loved the whole time travel story. And the bad guys (despite the human bad guy's stupidity) story is quite origional. Way to go Disney!

OK, I just watched this an hour ago on DVD. And I was very disappointed. The whole film is just a big mess of confusing plot holes - notably at the end, when the main character (whatever his name is, Lucas or something?) literally goes back to different parts in the story to stop the film's plot from happening in the first place. It had a lot of potential until it started contradicting itself every minute and a half.

Nowhere near as good as Pixar's work.

This movie is fun, but they did a stupid way of predicting the future. Flying cars, air bubbles, sky train tracks, come on!

There was a crazy idea of flying cars brought up by some lunatic from Popular Science but then it was said millions of times that it won't ever happen.

I know this is just a movie but you know that even movies can influence people's imaginations. Like say the meerkat advert influenced people to have meerkats as pets!
