@syrinakasslyn098 Speaking as someone who played bass in band class (too many years ago now to admit to) depending on what you're playing, in many cases there is no bass part, and you end up playing something written for the tuba or baritone (classical stuff and Sousa marches). When you get a real bass part, it's much more fun to play (I have some very fond memories playing "Africa" by Toto) if you have good ryythym and like the bass sound, I say go for it.
