I think what the video was trying to get at is the fact that most people only pay attention to trivial things. The watcher of this video is supposed to be more drawn into the TV in the background (talking about Charlie Sheen) just like the wife was, even though she should be paying attention to her husband's less-than-enthralling stories. If you can imagine, the only private school we have is ridiculously biased toward Christianity and public schools are the best way to go if you want a kid to grow up to have his own opinions and feelings instead of being shut into a world of quoting the bible when someone tries to have an argument with you.
