when connect to itunes comes up because device battery dies or you shut it off. simple plug it in and rejailbreak it wit blackra1n and it will restore it with all your cracked apps still on and workin

When i Jailbreak my iphone it will work fine for about 3 minutes then it will show the symbol Connect to itunes, but thats after its been jailbroken and unlocked. and i cannot get it done, it says it has to be restored. do I try again?

yes i did sort out my little problem what you have to do is connect it to ur pc then hold power button and the home button for 6 seconds then release the power/ sleep / wake button but continue to hold the home button after about 30 ur computer will bleep like when u connect to itunes and it will say itunes has found an ipod / iphone in dfu then just restore the iphone and update then re-jailbreak but make sure u have 3.1.2 firmware otherwise it wont work if u get 3.1.3 downgrade hope it helps

try taking for instance a T-Mobile sim card and insert it into your iPhone and then go to settings , network and make sure you turn off 3g or it will not pickup signal

Make sure you use USB 2.0 first when jailbreking and then install and then cydia then icy through blackra1n. Once icy is installed you will see a big red error message on cydia homepage saying it does not know which version is running. Just reinstall cydia through blackra1n again and the conflict will be resolved!!! Please pass around.

I posted a very detailed sequence a day or two back. If you are using windows for a 3G, and still having problems, follow the timing EXACTLY as posted and I think it will work 100% of the time. I'll be testing it again on Monday.

I was finally able to get blackra1n to work on a 3G, but it did take some trial and errors as you said. My solution:

1. Ran Windows 7 (on a Macbook Pro no less).

2. Ran blackra1n from c:/ as administrator.

3. Pushed both home and power button as the phone was going into restore mode, not after the screen went black.

4. Released power button when Apple logo appeared,

5. Got the geohot logo! Success!

DO NOT load Icy as it is an older version and it will hose Cydia.

Guys, I tried this about 20-25 times.. and it wouldnt work.. Finaly i thought lemme try something different... and it worked..

Here's what i did..

I hit make it rain, but instead of holding down the buttons as soon as the device reboots.. I started holding the buttons AS SOON AS I SAW THE APPLE LOGO..

its only a 2-3 sec difference.. but it FINALLY worked!

in (2), use the USB sound in windows and the color of the display to detect when it has come back one.

You only have a second to hold the buttons (3) before the apple logo

after the logo appears, release the power button immediately

around 5 or 10 s until the GeoHot image appears and the jailbreak is running

He's right, its about the timing.

1) Hit MakeItRain

2) Wait until AFTER the device reboots but BEFORE the apple logo

3) Press and hold BOTH buttons

4) AFTER the Apple logo appears, release the top button and HOLD the home button

5) Continue holding until that horrible graphic displays

6) Let go of the buttons

If stuck in recovery mode, reset (hold both buttons 10s), restart (hold power button 2s and release), use the QuickPwn instructions below to escape recovery mode, then try again.

Easy fix to get out of recovery mode (Windows)

1) Download/Extract QuickPwn22

2) Be sure Itunes will not start up when you attach your phone. I did this by renaming the Itunes.exe and ItunesHelper.exe

2) Attach your phone in recovery mode

3) Run QuickPwn. You will get a small dialog telling you hold buttons for 15s, then for 2 s

4) You are DONE WITH QUICKPWN. Click ok, then close the QuickPwn

5) Ready to try blackra1n again.

I got pretty mad and i almost killed my iphone BUT!!! Guys is not about how many times is about timing. So wen it is going in recovery mode your computer needs to says a sound (usb leaves the computer) before you press home + power buttom down. Wen you see the apple icon you need to wait ca. 1 sec - 1.5 sec and then it show to apple stick and hold thehome bottom and then you see geohot..

Hope you can use this write me if you didn't undstand it right.

After browsing through several forums I finally did it. From my experience all i had to do was.. 1) deactivate UAC, 2) end ituneshelper, ipodservices & mdnsresponder 3) turn off windows defender 4) deactivate kaspersky (in my case) and 5) close all unnecessary running programs.. and it worked without even the need of pressing button combinations.

It worked for me after about 25times i got geohots head and the process went smooth. After the reboot my iphone 3g was still not jailbreaked tho!

Firmwire is 3.1.2 and the phone is locked to AT&T wich i dont have a sim card for, but that shouldt be a problem?
