"The biggest mistake that you can make is actually to believe that you're awake" That's quite a mouthful. Lots to chew on. 'Mistake' implies there's a right way and a wrong way to live. 'Believe' implies that there is something 'realer' than here and now that we don't know or have forgotten about. 'Awake' implies that we're not. I believe that this world is an opportunity to learn about ourselves and that even if another level exists this is where we're at so stay focused on who you are now.
I just watched the movie for the 4th time... I remember one part of the movie that sort of ties into what you're saying is - If we can be aware of our dreams, the possibilitise are infinite.. If we can be aware of the waking life in the same way, the possibilities are also infinite. My question is, what about the boundries in the waking life? Are those boundries imaginatory? Theres chemical/physical laws, and also government laws. I can't get away with not paying my taxes, nor can I fly.
i believe that when we are in a lucid dream, the only thing that is real is the experience itself. daily real life experiences cause all those chemical reactions in our body, I think thats what we should focus on, and we can use lucid dreams to cure many diseases, and other things such as depression, and we can just use them to better ourselves in other ways by being creative.
If only we could remember our dreams more, we might find that there is a reality within them too, that comes back when you go to sleep the next evening. From what it seems, however, this is not the case. Waking Life has a sort of consistency that allows us to rely on it in certain ways.
I think that the realest experience of the tree is to essentially become the tree. Anything beyond that is a fragmented extent of the 'self' that still believes that the self exists.
I think it is possible to retain memory of our dreams, but It takes alot of effort and dicipline. Something that broke for meas soon as my meditation laxed.
I had a recurring dream scenario but it would occur in different environments. I do not believe too much meaning can be derived from dreams except that if you keep dreaming about something then it probably means that some element of the dream is particularly important to you?

But, we can always be solipsists.
Is that what you are suggesting, SulfurCitizen?

Have you ever had a continuous or recurring dream? What do you think of these phenomena Cheuvin and SulfurCitizen?
ps I Hope that this is a dream because my HECS bill will be fucking huge if I don't wake up soon!
