I was in a gigantic band in high school my freshman year and we took state. We also had this song lineup. I honestly think you guys are playing it better than we did. Much better intonation, better sound quality, timing, basically everything, music wise. We spent so much time on the field and had our marching darn near perfect but we were just lucky that year to have so many talented people who could already play extremely well, myself included lol...good job!
all 3 movements were personally customized just for us, and each movement was compiled of all 5 original movements in some way, so they sound a little weird. I know that the beginning of the third movement is supposed to be a mixture the hymnal movement and the white whale.
Classification is not dependent on the size of the band..its the school population. They beat alot of other 4A bands that were larger than them btw...6th place at State is not bad at all...
that is pretty good. =]] good for them. i'm not saying that being in 4A is a bad thing. i'm just used to having bands being in the divisions based on their size, like the high school i went to.
I was quite impressed. Your forms were very nice, and your ensemble sounds amazing. I love this piece and was surpsised to find that a group had marched it.

@joepangelo Good luck with that. This piece to me, would be a pretty tough to capture the atmosphere of the concert arrangment out on the feild.
