@Wutangspam This is almost exactly the same :o) You can store the fuel in it like a Trangia. More actually. And has a simmer top like the trangia. Has a much better pot stand than any Trangia in my opinion and is actually higher quality believe it or not :o) Here's my but:o)...The trangia is a hotter stove and boils water quicker. I did a vid comparing the two stoves side by side :o)
I'm thinking about getting a Tatonka stove to replace the tired Whisperlite that I keep with my old school MSR stainless cookset. I'm too old to carry that stuff on my back but I do still use it for car camping.
@DrunknShooter I hear ya :o) Whisper lite isn't lite! The Tatonka isn't really lite either as far as alcy stoves go. Sure is built well though :o) They're hard to find too. The German site I looked at doesn't ship to Canada. That's why my Friend Jan sent them from Germany. Thanks for watching my friend :o)
My lovely bush lady said pepper would mark it down as well ha ha ha. thanks for the posting. Im counting down the days until we come to Canada. Only a week now yippeee. (now for a real dumb thing to ask) Is Tutonka an Indian word for Buffalo? (told you it was a dumb question) :-)
That's some beautiful country. Tatonka means buffalo in "Dances with wolves" right? So I take it that stove is as tuff as a buffalo. I looks like it last forever. Super video quality aswell. Good stuff.
I like the velcro on the bag cozy, of all the ones I have made it never crossed my mind to add a piece of velcro to keep it closed. Thanks for sharing.
@MBlackford100 Thanks Marvin my friend :o) it was you who inspired me to make them. It hadn't crossed my mind until I seen your vid. So thanks for that :o)
Methinks she doth protest too much! That was the most hesitant 6 I've heard.
Great video again bud. Chilling out here in my work camp, about 80 clicks north of Kapuskasing, ON. The scenery you guys were biking through was spectacular.
@FourReason Jan! My good friend :o) It was a great day 21c :o) Get out the "rusty crusty" man :o) It brings you to life and lots of pain too...hehe! I'd love to see ya using the Big Breeze 2.0! I know you'll make it look great :o) Mani wastete yo?...hehe! Thanks for hangin' out brother :o)
Your weather there is beautiful - really comes across nice on your HiDef vid Bushbuddy! So great to see Bushwoman on the bike and using her ankle - how's it feeling? Give it a rating between 1 and 10 - LOL! Really liking that Buffalo Stove - all shiny and stainless steel. You two are a great biking couple - really fun watching you both rate that HP meal.
@wawhiker It's my buddy Bushcraft Bill :o) It was a very nice one on this day. +21c :o) Today we went out again and it was even warmer. Did have some big threatening clouds for a while though. Bushwoman's doin' great man. Easier riding than hiking though. But she can't get up real steep hills too good yet. Usually by the end of the day it looks like there's a golf ball on her ankle but hey, no pain no gain eh :o) The ol' Buffalo stove is pretty cool I think :o) Thanks for coming buddy :o)
The Mrs is on a bike! She is obviously doing much better! I love your instant response when it was turn to taste the meal. 3/10 vs 7/10 heh. We know who does the cooking at home! TATONKA looks like a heavily modified Trangia!
@phr1sk37 Thanks buddy :o)She's doin' pretty good. It's only been 3 months :o) She can ride much easier than hiking. She is the cook :o) Yes, very similar to a trangia, but shiny :o) And probably heavier too...haha!
Now we have a new song to sing when we are sitting on our soft spots! That was great guys. Could this be another celeb meal review. It just squeaks in there with a 6 out of 10
the heuvos rancheros eggs was nasty. a total waste of money. i tried them this weekend. the dark chocolate cheese cake was the greatest dessert ive had in ages though. nice stove looks like a trangia.
@Glockster42 Haha! Yeah the weather is looking good. Sorry to hear you're getting pounded with rain man :o( I'll send you some good stuff from the north eh :o)
Lemmy is God! Put some Motörhead in a video and you can never go wrong. I have the Tatonka alcohol stove too. I was a bit disappointed with it. Have you ever used the Evernew alcohol stove? They aren't cheap, but they work great. Evernew makes a pot stand called the Cross Stand and it will also fit the Tatonka and Trangia. Beautiful scenery by the way!
@1jump2many Hehe! Lemmy IS GOD ;o) I do like these stoves. Of all the stoves I've built I still didn't have one mellow enough for a simmer. Nope, never tried the Evernew. I have way too many now haha!
@ez2curanut International copywright, what does the USA have to do with it? Trangia is not in the USA either. Are you saying a chinese company can copy Apple and not get sued? I don't understand your point.
i say Tatonka!!!... Looks like a keeper that stove. I like the pot stands, how they assemble, and looks like they swivel as well? Not crazy about MH; haven't tried their S&S. Glad to see you and Miss Bushman out on the trail. Good idea on the refelctix for winter meals, or probably accelerate the summer meals as well.
@ez2curanut Tatonka! hehe! You got it :o) The potstand legs don't swivel actually. They're not round. Each leg has 2 flat spots 180 degrees from one another. This keeps them more stable so they don't swing around. Yeah the cozies work wonders :o) I love my MH ez :o)
Great video there. Are you prehistoric size insects out in force yet? If find prepackaged backpacker food to be hit and miss. I am a fussy eater and once I find one I like I tend to use it all the time. The last one I tried from Natural High was their BBQ Chicken and Rice. I was very good.
If you are out eating dehydrated food frequently on the trail, your best bet is to get a dehydrator and make your own food for that purpose. Lots of great info on that on youtube.
@bwillan Thanks bro :o) Yup the pterodactyl skeeters are definitely out :o) We've been trying different meals for the wife due to some food allergies. There are a lot she can't eat. I have a dehydrator actually. Have only made jerky so far. Plan on doin' some other meals with it eventually :o) But I'm still going to use my MH meals too because I like them :o)
@Ggreenvideos I've had some good Mountain House before, but I could have swore I heard the beef stew go "woof." Actually, the spices were overpowering. Maybe some people like that...
Looks like a nice stove but ? Always a but lol, you may as well go Trangia. Has everything you need in a sealed kit.

Tatonka means buffalo, learned that watching dances with wolves, lol.
The stove however seems to be an obvious ripoff of the famous trangia stove. Wonder how they managed not to get sued for that?
But another nice outdoor video.
