@ChocolateHoneycomb You're right but also wrong, YOU SEE, John Bonham thought that the Beatles were very lackluster when playing live and didn't want to do anything except the song, no improv just the same thing, over and over, anyway he wanted to prove that his "making stuff up on the spot" was better than their way of playing live so he wanted to start a band, and eventually joined Zeppelin. So it was rivalry to the Beatles that created Zeppelin, not inspiration.

The only original ideas were probably from classical musicians and before. Since then, we hear something we like, we feed off of it, make it our own, then play for others.
