Going to war without Congressional authorization and a declaration are obviously grossly unconstitutional, even though we haven't done this since WW2. All presidents mistakenly believe that "commander-in-chief" somehow means "power to make war" as well as command the military, although I have no idea WHERE they get this idea. Obviously the Founding Fathers never said that. I'm pretty sure none of the Federalist Papers say "It's ok for a president to supercede Congress and go to war alone."
