I did a swap like this. I put a 06 STI Drive train susp , breaks so on into my 93 legacy turbo. WOW WHAT A JOB. I payed a buddy to do ALL the wiring . but the rest was done by me and my other buddy. SUPER SLEEPER!! It was a BITCH when you are doing it. But the 1st time you drive it after all the Mapping and tuning is done. WELL THAT MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT!! GREAT JOB DOING A LEGACY!! PROPS.

I swapped *everything*, only the HVAC is original to the Legacy. It's a lot more work than doing a regular engine or drivetrain swap but you get the WRX gauge cluster, ABS, security system, cruise control, etc, etc, etc. If you have a complete donor car the cost isn't any more, but it takes a lot longer.

As far as tips, buy a complete donor car if you can, get the factory service manuals for your car and the donor and get familiar with them & take lots of photos of stuff as you take it apart!

Lost count a long time ago, since that video the motor has been rebuilt with STi rods & cams. The car is a blast to drive, but still needs more power!

hey did you us the original tranny??? because i was thinking of swapping my 99 2.5rs with an 06 legacy but i dont know if my tranny will match up with the legacy... if you can help thanks

Thanks! I'm just going to be street tuning it for now, will most likely dyno in the spring.

The motor is internally stock but has TGV & EGT deletes, APS inlet, STi intercooler & bpv, STi pinks, parallel fuel rail mod, VF29 turbo, catless up-pipe, 3" down-pipe & STi catback. I'm hoping for around 275whp.

wow! i just got my 97 legacy gt 2.5 and with my overheating problem i had to get a new motor, so i just got a 98 lgt 2.5 motor, but i wish i can put in all dat, must cost alot of money for all tose upgrades. congrats!
