@kristinaiskrazzy Piercing guns are the worst way to pierce an ear. It is purely blunt force trauma shoving a cheap, crappy piece of jewelery through an ear. It can't be cleaned properly and can often lead to infections.

I'm a guy. I got my ears peirced with a 16 gauge needle when I was 13. I streched up to a 10 gauge on my 14th birthday. A month later I streched to an 8 gauge, I turn 15 in 2 months and this summer I'm going from an 8 to a 6 then a 6 to a 4 but my parents don't want me to go any bigger than a 4 gauge while I'm living at home but my goal size is 11 milimeters (7/16") at the moment. @MsMuppet101 i just did a qualification thing for ear piercing with a gun, could have been a cartridge, that holds the back and earring in place :) just much more sterile because the gun doesnt actually touch the ear, the cartridges do, so you can clean up so easily :) they get replaced every time the gun is used

@jsgc13 dude, trust me. my sister did it to me cause she kinda forced me and I didn't get numbing or even a gun piercing. she stuck a proffesional needle (with the gauge label) through my ear without warning. It didn't hurt, you just hear the popping of the cartilege which sometimes freaks people out but it doesn't hurt.

A word of advice to people who wanna pierce their ears. DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS DO IT. Go to a professional. I had my second piercing done in my left ear. ( If you're looking at me, its the right. ) I let my aunt do a second hole in that ear and it hurt like a bitch. I made her stop and I went to a jewelry store the next day and for $25 I got a piercing and 2 studs. It only throbs and you feel heat for a second and then it goes away. I'm planning on getting my other ear done for my b-day.
it doesnt hurt at all and i didnt feel heavy or burning sensation for even 5 seconds or anything like that when i got mine pierced...i got mine pierced yesterday at king of prussia mall. but the bad thing is that you just cannot remove them for a year otherwise it will close and you just cannot remove them for 4-6 weeks at all even for an hour otherwise it will close.. that thing sucks.. i wish it was like i can remove the studs whenever i want.

And nice try at belittling me, but I had my ears gunned 3-4 times as a child, so it's hardly a matter of being unable to handle it. @kristinaiskrazzy Piercing guns are the worst way to pierce an ear. It is purely blunt force trauma shoving a cheap, crappy piece of jewelery through an ear. It can't be cleaned properly and can often lead to infections.
Why do you think if you walk into a professional piercing shop they don't use guns?
And thats not to mention anything about the professionalism of the people actually administering the piercing. Don't get my started.

Out of the people that got their ears pierced by a piercing gun, you do a little tally of the ears that got infected and the ears that didn't. You'd be surprised. If shops and stores believed this crap about piercing guns, do you really think they'd still be using them? Um, no? And do you honestly think they pull random people off of the street and say, "Pierce ears. At my shop. Now." No.

If I did a survey of everybody that had their ears pierced by a professional that was out of center (a massive issue for people wanting to stretch) I'd find a fuckton of people with this problem. Piercing guns ARE shit compared to the alternative which is professional piercing in a sterile environment with PROFESSIONALS administering the procedure.

I'm a guy. I got my ears peirced with a 16 gauge needle when I was 13. I streched up to a 10 gauge on my 14th birthday. A month later I streched to an 8 gauge, I turn 15 in 2 months and this summer I'm going from an 8 to a 6 then a 6 to a 4 but my parents don't want me to go any bigger than a 4 gauge while I'm living at home but my goal size is 11 milimeters (7/16") at the moment. @MsMuppet101 i just did a qualification thing for ear piercing with a gun, could have been a cartridge, that holds the back and earring in place :) just much more sterile because the gun doesnt actually touch the ear, the cartridges do, so you can clean up so easily :) they get replaced every time the gun is used

@jsgc13 dude, trust me. my sister did it to me cause she kinda forced me and I didn't get numbing or even a gun piercing. she stuck a proffesional needle (with the gauge label) through my ear without warning. It didn't hurt, you just hear the popping of the cartilege which sometimes freaks people out but it doesn't hurt.

A word of advice to people who wanna pierce their ears. DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS DO IT. Go to a professional. I had my second piercing done in my left ear. ( If you're looking at me, its the right. ) I let my aunt do a second hole in that ear and it hurt like a bitch. I made her stop and I went to a jewelry store the next day and for $25 I got a piercing and 2 studs. It only throbs and you feel heat for a second and then it goes away. I'm planning on getting my other ear done for my b-day.

it doesnt hurt at all and i didnt feel heavy or burning sensation for even 5 seconds or anything like that when i got mine pierced...i got mine pierced yesterday at king of prussia mall. but the bad thing is that you just cannot remove them for a year otherwise it will close and you just cannot remove them for 4-6 weeks at all even for an hour otherwise it will close.. that thing sucks.. i wish it was like i can remove the studs whenever i want.

I have had both my ears pierced, and earlier today I got my right ear pierced again. I didn't get it done at Wal-Mart though xD Seriously, at Claires you can trust that they are professionals, at walmart, idk.... But it doesn't hurt AT ALL it just tickles

A big bulky gun is fairly visible in your peripheral vision, and you can certainly feel the gunning, also by a stranger, happening. With a needle, you can't even see it going in because there's just a hand next to your face, much less really feel it. People who pierce with guns know nothing about piercing. People at shops who use needles do. I'd rather have the professional, thanks.

@MsCarowinds Do you work with piercing guns? Because a good friend of mine used to and it happens quite often, and yes, it DOES hurt when they get stuck. And nice try at belittling me, but I had my ears gunned 3-4 times as a child, so it's hardly a matter of being unable to handle it. Not to mention I've been pierced with a needle four times, and tattooed three times. It doesn't make you badass to handle getting gunned. Most people can. It's just much more pleasant to do it the RIGHT way.

@MsCarowinds You are so ignorant. No numbing gel is used with needle piercings because, OH MY GOD, it's not painful in the least. My first lobes were done with guns MANY times as a child, and my second lobes by needle as an adult. Needles hurt less. Piercers aren't doctors, and there's no pinching involved in a simple ear piercing. But you wouldn't know that, would you? Piercing shops are abundant, not hours away from civilization. Go research something before spewing nonsense, sweetheart.
