  • To Marc99gt, you are right lows 12's is not happening from a bone stock 03/04 but I have went as low as a 12.52 with only a tune on my 04, I LOVE the driveability that I get from her on a daily basis, it is amazing how far cars have came in the last 20 or so years

  • santiagomel00 fopr the record, LS3s dyno 380 - 395 rwhp bone stock. I have watched it person and have found probably 10 videos of them being dynoed on youtube. You may be right if it is on a mustang dyno, but your numbers would drop as well. Stock LS3 autos dyno 380s and they only weigh about 3250 lbs where as the Cobra is over 3600 lbs. Weight makes a big difference. Watch the video of the 2010 C6 Grand Sport vs the GT500. The C6 beats in every performance category with less hp.

That car base price with only performance mods (aka neglecting and luxury refinements to the vehicle) z51 (not zo6 mind you) 6spd with competition gray base wheels will set you back about about 50,000 give or take a few hundred bucks (i know 50k exactly sounds gay but I worked at chevy 2 years and with in about 600 bucks thats what it costs you). but you got a point, if you're gonna race race and quit bitching who had what. those are good races.

  • Typical 'Mod's race', that's all.  Remember a Stock 2003 Mustang Cobra runs between 12.9-13.3 where-as a Stock 08 LS3 Vette runs between 12.1-12.4. Stock and with equal mod's, the Vette would destroy the Cobra...

  • The cobra's 4.6 4v has forged internal and with upgraded rods would handle easily over 1000rwhp. Some run over 1000rwhp with a stock engine (hellion does). So potential from the stock side of things the cobra would win. Not saying that the LS3 couldn't be built to handle that much, but then we are in a different ball game of money...every engine then and could be built to handle enormous power...but the cobra already has the goods to start with...just my .2.

  • Well, most people like superchargers, I don't...they don't make the power that turbos can. People keep 600rwhp for DD. There are tons of cobras that run 800-900rwhp DD. I'm sorry to see that you've never driven a 900rwhp car, because if you had, you'd realize that 900rwhp would be too much for a DD. Anyways, I do drive a ford, had a 99 gt and now own a 05 gt. I have an 02 z06 (with intake and exhaust) and I have raced a new c6 and beat him. my buddy has a 04 cobra (pullied programed ect) and he will run neck and neck till about 120ish and by about 140 he might be a length or two behind. might be closer than you think. only way to find out is get out there lol.

  • the 05 c6 has an ls2 the new ones i have ls3. the diff od 35 hp. but my brother raced a c6 vette with his 07 mustang gt and my bro raped him. his gt is just has a sts single turbo at 8psi. hw lost to c6 z06 by maybe 2 car lengths. and he lost to 03/04 cobra. cobra 519rwhp

  • with out different internals a stock gt with just an sts turbo can't handle the boast to beat a c5z or an ls3 much less rape them. try again...

  • with stock internal at 4.3 lbs the car made 372 rwhp at 8 lbs it made 438rwhp a stock c5z06 makes 340 rwhp and an ls3 makes 365 rwhp so at 8 lbs of boost i win and fyi a gt can take up 12lbs of boost its all on tuning and good fuel delivery

  • see thats what I'm sayin. you don't know what you are talking about. 440whp would be high for what a GT would make before frying its internals. they just wont handle it. in fact I have never heard of anyone pushing a gt that hard and not having problems. and fyi I have a c5z and seen my buddies 04 cobra put down 460rwhp and I will beat him by 2 lengths to 140 time and time again. hate to tell you but the stangs are horribly innefficient with their power delivery to acceleration.

  • there are plenty of vids of bone stock cobras with the goodyear eagle f1street tires they come with running 12's bud... of course not everyone can do it you have to shift like your on pcp but it has been done multiple times.

  • @hkaiser83 C&D did 12.4 @ 116 in a 2008 C6 convertible automatic which is the slowest LS3 you can buy. There are videos of 2008 C6s running 11.90s @ 119 mph and autos running 12.20s-12.30s @ 117-118 mph on youtube.

    I raced mustangs for years and owned a turbocharged 99 GT that was in 04/02 MM&FF. No stock 03/04 Cobra ran low 12s ever. I agree with you. Best drivers might have hit 12.60s, but most I saw were 12.9s.

  • i dont think its about power delivery to acceleration as much as it is power to wieght and aero dynamics... vettes are lower and shaped better for high speeds and cobras are about 3400 to 3700 lbs. how much does a vette way anyway? i know they are quite a bit lighter.

  • something is wrong with that cobra, or it is running low boost. I have an 08 vette with cam/lt's/exhaust/cai and HAD an 04 cobra with a whipple at 17lbs 611RWHP. It would wax my new vette.

  • Than you must not be a good driver. There is a clear weight and airodynamics advantage on the Vett. With your settup you should be at around 500RWHP. If you can't beat cobra with a wipple than there is something wrong with your car. If you are local I would be interested to run your built Vett with my bolt on Vett.

  • Most Whipple Cobra are going to be 575-625rwhp, more than enough to pull on 500rwhp Vette.

    2003-2004 (Terminator) Cobras come supercharged from the factory but have a wimpy little 'Eaton' supercharger on them.
