These games are way old. 2005 the game was just getting as popular as it is now. They now knew the importance of expansions and stuff, but their controll wasn't as great as these days. Savior would steamroll you 1v1. If a guy has like 500-600 apm, EAPM(Effective actions per minute) would be around 50-70.

Hell no. I usually have an APM of 170..210, I believe I spam a lot, and even my EAPM is ~130.

They just like to keep their actions per minute up. If you start the game at a high speed it's easier to stay active rather than starting slow and trying to speed up when you actually need to.

Anyway... just practice. people can teach you the concept or micro and macro, but its impossible to teach you application. that's something you learn from experience or practice. if you're doing something wrong, like you don't know how to micro units, then that can be taught. :)

Apm doesnt matter a lot... Nada's apm is like 500 and savior owns him every match ... "Fishey" pro! protoss player had like 120 apm and he was good! i think with an apm over 180 you're okey ... but it doesnt matter if your apm isnt 250 /500/600 you can be a very skilled player with an average Apm.. God, I hate having to correct this every single time. NaDa's APM is NOT 500. It's incredibly hard to even MAX OUT at 500 once in a game. 420 is the best I've seen personally in that regard. But to have an APM of 500 through the duration of a single game is like an act of God. Think: 500 actions per minute, so in 60 seconds, he makes one move every 0.12 seconds. I've seen a video of NaDa's hands. He doesn't hit a key every 12 hundredths of a second.

Yep. NaDa's APM is NOT 500. It is anywhere between 300 and 420, with max at 500+ quite often though.

I have rep of NaDa vs Asuka, Nada 451 apm. Maxed out at 700. It's a 20 minute game also, nearing the end his apm was around 400

consistently, his APM is 350-450. but saying he maxes out at 420 is an inaccurate statement. He hits the 500 mark a lot. Most of the replays put out are exhibition matches, and rarely do pros go full horse power in them.

wow I never noticed this, but in the very beginning, you can make ur workers mine just a bit faster by "guiding" them the minerals.

so instead of clicking on a mineral and letting the AI pathfinding find the mineral, you can click on minerals out of the way to make the worker take a more direct path!

I get it. You know how the hypotenuse is always shorter then making the 90 degree turn right?  Its problably like that. Instead of just letting SC make the path for you, which will be the right angle turns, you make a path yourself that will be the "hypotenuse", that way you can mine and return minerals faster.

The amount gained is...almost neglible. It gives you like half a second. Basically, what he means is that he guides the drone in a straight line, rather than letting the computer AI guide the drone, which would make the drone go in two directions, which would make the travel distance longer than if the drone went in one direction the whole time.

I lack understanding towards people who say 250 isn't enough for anything you possibly could imagine. Even there he had a lot of not-so-important clicking going on a lot, definately same outcome could've been done with <200apm too.

250 apm is very high, when compared to an "average" American player. Which would probably be me, but I don't game enough as I should.

I average roughly 70-120 now. I don't spam anymore. ^_^

For a pro-zerg it's on the low low end.

Generally Protoss pros have lower APM than Terran and Zerg.

Terran and Zerg pros are 330+ APM

Compare to other FPVODs, it's clear Savior's mouseclicks are very efficient.
