China has made big progress because it has stolen or extorted massive amounts of technology and R&D from the United States.

Most Chinese can't think innovatively because the Party beat it out of them. Many Chinese are very smart, but poor innovators due to the repressive police-state.

The fact is, China hasn't contributed one major technology innovation to the world since its "amazing" rise.

Greedy capitalists wanted to exploit cheap Chinese labor and the Party bosses helped them.

TIOC1, if you want to keep yourself up to date of what is happening in China, I suggest you to look at unbiased sources, the thing is: China is going to lead the world in R&D, China spends the 2nd biggest amount of money on R&D behind the US, most of its technology is domestic developed (since the US and Europe have a high-tech embargo on China). AND China has invented the worlds 1st HSMPA+Android smartphone and this is only 1 example of the innovation potential of China.

You guys don't know jack about human rights. You have to understand that the Chinese Government have to set extremely strict laws on its people to maintain peace and order for 1.3 billion people. Don't forget, most of them are in poverty. Without these harsh laws and enforcements, the country will be in chaos.

I agree that there are many issues that needs to be solved, but that takes time, and change is happening.

The USA will do the same thing as their population grow, more gov. control.

Why do I say so? Easy, I've traveled throughout China, have you? The images they portray are simply not true.....period. Nobody gets arrested for simply "meditating in the park" as is claimed. It's just another Cause Celebre in this country and the "protesters" are using Falun Gong as a front for their political agenda.
