@johnsmithysmithy Come on dude Hardaway until he got injured was the second best pick in the draft. He took them to the finals. Wade even said Penny in his prime was elite.
Vin Baker was an all star a few times, before his alcohol problem.
@rashb Thats well thats just a overall draft, if no one got injured or had problems thainks might of been different. I might of had Rider in my top 5 if he didn't go off the rails as well.
@johnbourbon Certainly not great. There is not a single hall of famer in that group. Only Webber and Hardaway were franchise players in their short prime. Only Cassell and Toni K won titles both as role players. An average crop of players.
Yeah, one of the most interesting drafts in history. I'm not up on all draft night trade history, but Penny for Webber had is the biggest one I can think of.
Funny how they say for a junior coming out, is coming out "a year early" now they'd say that was coming out two years late.
Its Funny How a simple ping pong ball could have changed the whole history of the NBA. Magic Dont get the pick and some one is picking Shawn Bradley First. Penny and Shaq Never Take It to MJ in 95, Kobe and the Deisel Never play together...the thoughts are just mind boggling
Shawn Bradley jumping like that? It's no wonder that his knees and ankles decided to retire before he did.

2:13: "College basketball player of the year Calbert Cheaney, who led Indiana to two consecutive Final Four appearances..."
Indiana only made one Final Four during Cheaney's tenure (1992). It did make two consecutive Elite Eight appearances, though.

If this draft was done again,
1 - Webber
2 - Houston
3 - Cassell
4 - Mashburn
5 - Hardaway
6 - Van Excel
7 - Toni K
The rest don't matter

@johnsmithysmithy True, Rider could score 20 in his sleep, its just that he's a headache.
