You cant go wrong with the Flip Video for an awesome portable video camera..they have a new HD version out, the MINO, but its more expensive and video files much larger/better quality. ..but if you just want a great portable video camera for capturing simple moments and dont care to much about the resolution the Ultra is a great affordable way to go! Cant go wrong..hope this helps

What if you unplug the USB arm from your computer? Do you lose the videos & software in the computer?

Good question, I believe the softwae is installed to your computer so if you pull out the FlipVideo the software is still present on your PC and you can transfer videos from the Flip Video to your PC so the videos stay on the computer. Good question to email FlipVideo about as well..thanks

sorry, 1st call FlipVideo support and they can walk you through, 2nd they will probably tell you to update the firmware on the device, lastly you can always return it and exchange for new one if still in buy/return time period from the retailer you bought at...

my flip doest work on my computer and i am pissed. it doest live up to its modo at all because i cant share anything. it works on every other computer exept mine which is a windows XP! can someone help me!

Try shutting down the device and/or deleting other unused videos to help clean it up. If that does not work save all the videos on it, shutdown, and go to their website and download the latest firmware/drivers and flash the device with the new stuff to help 'fix' it...or just call FlipVideo's tech support line.

The Flip Video comes with basic software for video editing, but you can save the video file to your computer and then edit it with other video applications, hope this helps.

The sound is good for picking up normal occurrences ie friends & family outings etc. It's not great for live music as the mic is very simple so would not recommend it for that.

It comes with basic software for editing right in the Flip Video, you just connect the device to your PC via it's flip USB and up pops software for viewing, editing, and organizing your video clips. The software editing is basic, but very easy to use

Good Question, the camera has a red record button, but no pause button. When you stop recording it saves it as a video clip and when you record again it creates a new video clip..hope this helps.

The Flip Video actually has the software right on the video recorder so when you plug it into the USB port on your computer it installs it for you

It works with any tripod but you need the write mini screw-in jack that matches the bottom of the Flip Video's input. Need to check on that spec
