Hogan85 The reason Bernie, Larry and Lloyd left was because Teddy left. At the time however, Lloyd was not with the group; it was Jerry Cummings. The group was in LA when Teddy left. Teddy went solo, singing the songs until his recording date came up. Harold had to get a whole new group. Bernie and Larry got their old singer, John, to lead. Teddy did solo performances for people like Sammy Davis Jr. when Sammy had his show, Sammy and Company in DC. How do I know? I was their band leader.

It is good to see this, and Teddy with his hair fried, dyed and laid to the side! Teddy was smart! Go get his old interviews. Teddy was orchestrating his transformation into The Teddy Bear while he was doing all of these shows for Harold Melvin. He knew to wear his hair different from the group to maintain a noticable difference to set himself apart, even though his amazing lead voice stood out. Which one is Harold Melvin? @Tonae88 there are a few programs you can use to convert youtube vids to an mp3 format. than you can make a cd with them. i use a program called dvdvideosoft ... one word .. just google and download its free and safe... I filled my ipod with help from this...

Wow! They almost did this acappella at the beginning;that really would have been spectacular!.Very soulful version with shades of doo -wop.Although I much preferred the original Blue Notes who sang "My Hero",back in the day, these guys were very impressive.

The only voice that comes close to sounding like the one and only Teddy Pendergrass is the artist Jahiem. If anyone has payed attention to his voice, in my opinion, he's the only one who could do it.

@hughenmatt Teddy looks and sounds so seasoned to only have been just 23 years of age. Men looked and sounded far more mature (like Otis Redding-26 yrs old when he died), back in the day. I guess circumstances forced them to be men early.
