Też uważam generała Maczka za świetnego taktyka i dowódcę. Ale ze złością myślę o jego walkach poza granicami Polski... Ile dobrego by zyskała Polska, gdyby był w kraju... Wiem, wiem. Tak się potoczyły losy. Panie generale dziękuję!!!! Bo jest za co.
Maczek left the army on 9 September 1948 [3]. After the war, Maczek was stripped of Polish citizenship by the Communist government of the People's Republic of Poland, and thus had to remain in Britain. As he was not considered by the British to be an Allied soldier, he was denied combatant rights and a military pension[3]. As a result, until the 1960s he was forced to do menial work[8] working as a bartender in an Edinburgh hotel.
@podlipowski7 My dad was in this division in Scotland after the war he had to carry a aliens book and had to report as such to the police like a common criminal
The commander of the division of gen Stanisław Maczek stayed on the emigration in Great Britain after the war. Devoid the Polish citizenship, he worked as the bartender in one of hotels in the Edinburgh. 102 years died on 11 December 1994 r. in the Edinburgh, in the age(in that time many Polish soldiers-pilots, commandos, infantry and many more stay in UK but many people not only govermment said "Poles come back to Poland"
A lot of polish soldiers stay in UK after war pilots( the best pilots in Battle of Britain, infantry, commandos etc. Many british people not only govermment said "Poles come back to Poland"
Serdeczne dzieki. Moj wujek wyzwalal Brede pod dowodztwem gen. Maczka. Tam poznal swoja przyszla zone i jako honorowy obywatel Bredy zostal tam pochowany w 2003 roku z naleznymi honorami.

Polish hero and an outstanding GENERAL. Under his command 14 divisions(among them SS) were destroyed! A true master commander.
True Polish people are proud of you. It must be made an obligation to teach about his exploits in Polish schools.
A shame the low life scum back in Poland did not honor such a great man and give him a proper pension, for all his contributions!

Jezuu ale piękna polszczyzna... słychać ,że to był porządnie wykształcony człowiek a nie jakiś półgłowy zakompleksiony trep.

Do not confuse the British Nation with the British Government ! They treat their own veterans disgracefully.
He will be remembered with honour by the British Nation.
