The cone is made by rolling up a section of a circle and welding up the seam. There are some cone calculators on the web that will tell you the section size in degrees and the radius of the circle to get to the desired base diameter and height.
I have not worked on the project since late spring 2010, but did make an improved inlet to the cyclone and have been working on pellet delivery and temp control systems.
Have not run an engine, but 'tis the season to play outside in the cold : )

Great video. How do you make the stainless steel cone in the middle? Do you just pound stainless sheet around a form and weld it?
