Yes, Taira was one of few foremost kobudo teachers and many prominent karate master studied his kobudo.

His senior student was Akamine Sensei. Search Ryukyu kobudo Tesshinkan and you will see one of Akamine Sensei's student Tamyose Hidemi doing a few kata.

its actually some sort of Yari, its not nunte sai.Manji sai has one of the tangs reversed
