I like the "Universal Century" type Gundam, especially the Anime. The others like Seed and Gundam 00 all seem like the characters are constantly brooding and just being emo all the time. But in the classic Universal Century setting they are fighting for more of what they believe in than just for fun or for some chick that is just there to advance the plot (Lacus). It's just the way to go. Plus, Universal Century has realistic hairstyles, it'll go easy on the cosplayers. XP

i know this is old but...SEED had a movie planned, not sure if it will ever happen, why anyone would want one is personally beyond me. I like U.C, but there is only;y so much to be done with Zeon. MAYBE (a big one) an animated crossbones would be cool. Also, AC had it's follow up movie in which they stated "mobile suits were never used again"....so that's your answer, like it or not you got it, and that ship has sailed, thankfully imo.
i honestly think they should go back to the after colony era and continue on some story for Wing maybe some new versions of the 5 Gundams or a new story set in that era. Idk its just my opinion

I like how they've been doing things over the past decade or so - making more Alternate Universe storylines with some U.C. series thrown in every few years. I certainly like U.C. but there is a limit as to how much they can do with it. The gap between Mobile Suit Gundam and Zeta was explained, but I would like to see the period between ZZ and Char's Counterattack expanded upon.
I am going to split my vote. Modern gundam series like 00 which took gundam fans by storm in my opinion are great but its nice to see U.C. get modern animation treatment. Who knows Gundam Unicorn might actually have something just as cool as 00 although I dont foresee it beating out the 00 Raiser and when it quantizes my mouth dropped when I saw it. Not to mention the final battle in 00 between the Innovators and Celestial Being. That even beat Wing in gundam fights. Now that says something.
Going back to the universal century would be a nice change from the alternate universes. Besides I want to see the Banshee in action in the series. That gundam is going to kick ass.
Unicorn Gundam reminds me of those old super robots from the '70s with its hidden psychoframe and transforming face. I expect it to yell FAAAACE OOOOPEN! and go totally medieval on some generic space monster.
The last time we were in UC we weren't as well-enamoured as we were with the Tomino serieses. The 08th MS Team was kind of cool, as were 0080 and 0083, but G-Saviour was (as you all are no doubt aware) just far too fail for its own good. Additionally, despite the good work that was done on 00, coming up with so many alternate universes is getting old (as was shown with the failure of SEED). We needed a trip back to UC a long, long time ago, and this is a very good way to do it.

The mech designs were excellent as always but the series itself did not do them justice, as demonstrated by the constant beam-spam in seed destiny. And the impulse seemed to be a knock off of the strike and rx-78-2, and the zakus and big zam rip off did not help either. 00 was definately a better series, now THAT one deserved two series.

@5timli OMG! I KNOW! Agreed. So much recycled footage... I saw Shin's family die so many times, I was starting to as well... and they also dedicated whole episodes just to recap what happened earlier and recycle in more flashback footage. However, I did like some of the ZAFT mass production units like the GINN, GUAIZE, and CJUE, but the Enact, Flag, and Tieran just added so much more variety... and that was just in the first few 00 episodes.

Actually,I would love Gundam to go back to basics as some of the newer series*coughSEEDcough* didn't do so well and others like 00 were pretty good but didn't live up to all its hype.
I'd prefer either very late UC (after Victory) or, better, more AW/FC stuff, as both worlds have plenty of potential. This trend started by Unicorn will lead to some major retcons, you mark my words.

I've read 3 vols of the Unicorn novels the chinese translated ver, one thing I really like about Unicorn is the MS design, everyone single MS looks just AMAZING, making the series into an anime will sure bring in more interest to a wider public!!!!
The story from the Novel is very INTENSE and very detailed during the battle.
Gundam Unicorn will be a welcome new addition to the list of Gundam anime. I'm quite interested to see it, since I can't get the manga (or novels, or whatever). Besides, 1/144 HGUC Kishatriya will certainly be awesome!
I couldn't be more excited for Unicorn. Being based on a novel doesn't bother me one bit. In fact, it gives me hope for the future that maybe, just maybe Sentinel, or Crossbone might get animated. As for Unicorn, the main reason I'm excited is to see the glorious MS designs animated. You brought up the Models in your video, and I think it's really a good thing, MG Unicorn, and especially Sinanju, are pretty expensive, so having cheaper HG versions is always a plus.
I myself own an MG Unicorn and would love to get Sinanju, but an animated series increases the chances of other MS, such as the Banshee, Delta Plus, or Re-Zel getting the MG treatment. Knowing spoilers from the novel is kind of a drag, but let's be honest, I haven't read the novel since I'm not Japanese, so I know fractions of the story. I knew the ending to several Gundam shows before I watched them, and it really didn't hinder my enjoyment of them, so I say bring Unicorn on.

well im glad full frontal is char, Full Frontal was revealed as a clone of Char Aznable who was given Char's personality/memories by the Psychoframe (somehow)

I'm happy that Sunrise returned to UC, because in my opinion, UC is the most awesome universe of the series. However, I wouldn't mind seeing more Alternate Universe series in the future.
Personally, I'm looking forward to Unicorn Gundam. Even though I started on the AU side of Gundam, UC is still a great (and better than AU in some cases) era. :]
UC or AU, I don't care as long as there's a new Gundam series coming out, then I'm happy. Buy the kits again? Depends on the quality. I've already bought the VerKa MG edition for Unicorn but I haven't built it yet. Mecha design is really nice though.

I think that they shouldn't have returned to the UC. The whole Zeon/Federation thing ran it's course a long time ago and it is cool to have new more interesting series. Plus, what boggles my mind is that why make new gundam series and models when they still need to remake models for Victory and ZZ?
I would love another UC Gundam, but I am really looking forward to an animated unicorn. I hope that if they bring the novels overseas, they get a better translator then the guy who did the Gundam novel. I prefer calling him "Char" rather then "Sha".

My biggest concern is whether or not there will be an MG version of the Banshee and Full armour unicorn. Its abit much for me to get 3 kits that are almost the same.
I think it's a good thing that Bandai is returning to the Universal Century. There are many Gundam fans out there who are fans of the Alternate Universe Gundam Series and hate the UC series. Maybe the airing of Gundam Unicorn will help those types of fans appreciate the UC Timeline.
the stories from the first gundam, zeta and 08th ms team were pretty good. 00 was far better than seed, but i still wish they would make more stories in those times periods. ask for unicorn im glad we get a combination of the old universe with better quality. as long as bandai keeps rolling out the series ill keep watching.
I'm actually glad to see Unicorn happen. Simply because it's a UC series not set during the OYW, which has become the bloated, over-developed section of the continuity.
AS more more spinoffs, I wouldn't mind seeing more from CE or AD, but would maim and possibly kill for a prequel to Gundam X, set during the war itself.
If it's a Gundam series i'm pretty sure i'm going to like it, and I agree with Doudoudou, UC as well other alternates besides Gundam 00 have more realistic results for powering mecha. I liked the 00 series the science just seem too unreal for the Gundam i'm used to seeing.
to be honest i have not seen much of the U.C series just 8th ms team which was good but that was good because of its short run and high production quality. i don't mind what they do as long as its good but remember there is a generation who have not seen the 1st gundam.

I first thought that Seed was the best. Then I went and watched 5th MS team and I was like "Damn this stuff is far better than Seed." No scene recycling, and the animations are very fluent. If they can do seed like that than I'm fine. Or do something as well done as MS Igloo 2. If they can do that with Seed or anything new, I game for it.
we dont need any more alternate universes. theres pletty of great UC stories that could be animated. Crossbone Gundam, Sentinel, Advance of Zeta, and Ecol Du Ciel were all great books/mangas, yet instead bandai tries to shove crap like "Astray VS. SEED" down our throats.
I'm always happy to see more gundam series, UC or alternate universe. UC seems to care more about the "real robot" aspect, and personnaly I don't care, both anime styles are good to me, but the "realistic" mechs gunplas look nice (example : sinanju with a bazzilion thursters and fuel tanks is more "realistic" than exia with ZERO thrusters, but still able to fly). GN science, lol. Anyways hopefully we'll get more and more kits, especially from Neo-Zeon ;)

Actually,I would love Gundam to go back to basics as some of the newer series*coughSEEDcough* didn't do so well and others like 00 were pretty good but didn't live up to all its hype.

I'd prefer either very late UC (after Victory) or, better, more AW/FC stuff, as both worlds have plenty of potential. This trend started by Unicorn will lead to some major retcons, you mark my words.

I've read 3 vols of the Unicorn novels the chinese translated ver, one thing I really like about Unicorn is the MS design, everyone single MS looks just AMAZING, making the series into an anime will sure bring in more interest to a wider public!!!!
The story from the Novel is very INTENSE and very detailed during the battle.

Gundam Unicorn will be a welcome new addition to the list of Gundam anime. I'm quite interested to see it, since I can't get the manga (or novels, or whatever). Besides, 1/144 HGUC Kishatriya will certainly be awesome!

I couldn't be more excited for Unicorn. Being based on a novel doesn't bother me one bit. In fact, it gives me hope for the future that maybe, just maybe Sentinel, or Crossbone might get animated. As for Unicorn, the main reason I'm excited is to see the glorious MS designs animated. You brought up the Models in your video, and I think it's really a good thing, MG Unicorn, and especially Sinanju, are pretty expensive, so having cheaper HG versions is always a plus.

I myself own an MG Unicorn and would love to get Sinanju, but an animated series increases the chances of other MS, such as the Banshee, Delta Plus, or Re-Zel getting the MG treatment. Knowing spoilers from the novel is kind of a drag, but let's be honest, I haven't read the novel since I'm not Japanese, so I know fractions of the story. I knew the ending to several Gundam shows before I watched them, and it really didn't hinder my enjoyment of them, so I say bring Unicorn on.

well im glad full frontal is char, Full Frontal was revealed as a clone of Char Aznable who was given Char's personality/memories by the Psychoframe (somehow)
so im glad he has something better than dieing on the asteroid! UC gundam is cool, if ur a mecha fan it doesn matter what they release if its good stuff u will enjoy it! as far as the models the more the better!

I'm happy that Sunrise returned to UC, because in my opinion, UC is the most awesome universe of the series. However, I wouldn't mind seeing more Alternate Universe series in the future.

UC or AU, I don't care as long as there's a new Gundam series coming out, then I'm happy. Buy the kits again? Depends on the quality. I've already bought the VerKa MG edition for Unicorn but I haven't built it yet. Mecha design is really nice though.

I think that they shouldn't have returned to the UC. The whole Zeon/Federation thing ran it's course a long time ago and it is cool to have new more interesting series. Plus, what boggles my mind is that why make new gundam series and models when they still need to remake models for Victory and ZZ?

I would love another UC Gundam, but I am really looking forward to an animated unicorn. I hope that if they bring the novels overseas, they get a better translator then the guy who did the Gundam novel. I prefer calling him "Char" rather then "Sha".

I think it's a good thing that Bandai is returning to the Universal Century. There are many Gundam fans out there who are fans of the Alternate Universe Gundam Series and hate the UC series. Maybe the airing of Gundam Unicorn will help those types of fans appreciate the UC Timeline.

the stories from the first gundam, zeta and 08th ms team were pretty good. 00 was far better than seed, but i still wish they would make more stories in those times periods. ask for unicorn im glad we get a combination of the old universe with better quality. as long as bandai keeps rolling out the series ill keep watching.

I'm actually glad to see Unicorn happen. Simply because it's a UC series not set during the OYW, which has become the bloated, over-developed section of the continuity.
AS more more spinoffs, I wouldn't mind seeing more from CE or AD, but would maim and possibly kill for a prequel to Gundam X, set during the war itself.

If it's a Gundam series i'm pretty sure i'm going to like it, and I agree with Doudoudou, UC as well other alternates besides Gundam 00 have more realistic results for powering mecha. I liked the 00 series the science just seem too unreal for the Gundam i'm used to seeing.

to be honest i have not seen much of the U.C series just 8th ms team which was good but that was good because of its short run and high production quality. i don't mind what they do as long as its good but remember there is a generation who have not seen the 1st gundam.

I first thought that Seed was the best. Then I went and watched 5th MS team and I was like "Damn this stuff is far better than Seed." No scene recycling, and the animations are very fluent. If they can do seed like that than I'm fine. Or do something as well done as MS Igloo 2. If they can do that with Seed or anything new, I game for it.

we dont need any more alternate universes. theres pletty of great UC stories that could be animated. Crossbone Gundam, Sentinel, Advance of Zeta, and Ecol Du Ciel were all great books/mangas, yet instead bandai tries to shove crap like "Astray VS. SEED" down our throats.

I'm always happy to see more gundam series, UC or alternate universe. UC seems to care more about the "real robot" aspect, and personnaly I don't care, both anime styles are good to me, but the "realistic" mechs gunplas look nice (example : sinanju with a bazzilion thursters and fuel tanks is more "realistic" than exia with ZERO thrusters, but still able to fly). GN science, lol. Anyways hopefully we'll get more and more kits, especially from Neo-Zeon ;)
