I play AAA bantom and i wear Vaughn V3 Velocitys they are a great pad they are very easy to slide in. And great rebounds. By far my favorite pad i have worn.

im a goalie and i was playing a 2 on 1 and there was a pass and a shot right in between my 5 hole cuz i didnt get over in time but the middle of my pads stopped the puck.i was in Atom when that happened.I had Dr.FireWall!!!!!GREAT PADS FOR YOUNG KIDS

i play a butterfly style on ice. Street and ice are way different though, ice is actually easier in my opinion because you can slide which makes the butterfly much more useful.

dude i noticed most of the goalies have the new Vaughns. i guess i made the right choice to go with the vaughns.

yeah, a lot of it has to do with the new pad changes. The thigh boards/knee flaps on pads are illegal now because they cover too much 5 hole when a goalie goes down. Vaughs have a built in knee pad which is legal and also the new reeboks are too "bouncy" as some people say because it gives off almost erratic rebounds. Im guessing thats why most goalies have gone back to Vaughn or are still using the PII's

I think that a lot of goalies are choosing Vaughn now because of Reebok taking over so much. They took over Koho and I believe the goalie portion of CCM.

i'm not terribly sure of the ccm deal seeing as CCM is no longer a major goaltender equipment contender, but i'm fairly sure a lot of it has to do with the new restrictions and regulations on NHL pads today. Goalies don't exactly chose a brand based on its popularity, but they chose it for the style of play it offers and the advantages it has over other pads. Seeing as Reebok lost its edge with some of the new rules, a lot of goaltenders are experimenting with Vaugn now.

I'm a reebok guy. I love the way the puck deflects off of the pads so you don't leave any rebounds right in front of your pads. Although, vaughn would be my second choice of pad.

yea a lot of people like them. the thing i fine about rbk pads is they have a really loose fit and dont really mold to the form of your leg as well as other pads. the Brian's Thiefs' are probably one of the best known pads for having amazing rebound control and deflection and they're just beautiful lol

Great collection of saves!! This video reminds me of Tritiak, the 1980 Russian goalie. I am currently being trained by Bob Hunt, who was Tritiak's student. This is the secret to becoming a pro goaltender. You HAVE to come out way above the crease. That's cuts the angle and makes them shott at you. Just a hint.

Thats awesome! I play a more modern butterfly style of goalie and for me depending on the situation i may be at the edge of the crease as opposed to out past it. Long shots in the zone and breakaways im far out of my crease. 2 on 1s im usually a little farther back so that i dont get beat laterally with a saucer pass (unless my defender completely takes away the second forward then im far out)

You would have to be a little off to want to be a goalie. Just waiting for a little rubber disc to come flying at you at incredible speeds. It just seems so stressful to me. Then when you watch the news, they usually show the goals, not the sweet saves. Goalies look so cool to me.
