@LaserEntertainment - sorry no raster scans, the producer used a small 500mW 532nm system with 30kpps galvos, not sure if it is even capable of raster scans at that speed. But then again, that wasn't the point of the original display/video.

I can't believe some people still think this might be fake...so I posted yet another Video Response here on YouTube. Good location - there are thousands of cars streaming by on the highway, but I had the laser inside my car and my window wasn't so clean, so the beam was not as bright. :-) If anyone has ideas for good locations in Toronto to project onto - please post them here - ideal locations are large, flat white surfaces.

Hi Baharakz and thanks for your comment. I guess you didn't watch the video response that shows raw footage of how the video was made? Also check northsideparker's comments below about how the lights actually flicker if you fast forward/rewind.  The footage was shot in many, many different clips and then I pieced them together with VirtualDub. Thanks.

you can tell by the video its fake.

toronto is never dark at night

nothing moves in the background not even light flickers

1) You're WRONG!

2) The top of the Rogers Centre would be dark when "zoomed" in on. The light from the streets don't shoot sky-ward and curve around to reflect off of the roof!

3) The background lights do flicker, when playing at normal speed, especially the small light directly underneath the bigger light closest to the text on the left side...so does the lowest lights on the top right. Put on pause and use your mouse to rewind/fast forward back and forth! You'll see the lights flickering!

I didn't even notice that, but you're right - if you pause and rewind/fast forward, then you do see lights going on and off and flickering - I think they are condo's on the other side of the dome. I never thought the legitimacy would be contested when I filmed it...lol. Another thing to notice is that the whole laser display bounces a bit on the dome - it was pretty windy on the balcony and I was using tables and chairs to prop up the laser...

I posted a video response here where you can view some of the raw footage for proof of it's legitimacy. In this footage, you will see when it is zoomed right in, that nothing moves in the background. In any case, I would be happy to record more video, or post evidence here that would convince you.

Oh and when I did skydome, I was on top of the CN tower shooting 20 watts Argon laser down to the mddle of the Skydome with roof open and creating 180 , it was amazing opening night.

I never played with Ar and Kr lasers, only DPSS for me :-) But gas lasers must have been cool - especially a 20W with water cooling! I can just imagine the beams coming off the CN Tower - wow! The laser I used for this was only 500mW - you were using 40 times more power and almost the same wavelength!

Yes Try taking the 20w lasers up to the top of the CN tower with water pumps and everything Angling the whole thing down to the Skydom , it was awesome. we also did lots of Xmass shows in small towns nmid winter graphics on the on the water towers , But we were always the Rock stars.

Diode pump lasers are cool that is mostly what I used these days for other Application here in SF bay area

She was a very inspiring Iranian woman protesting in Iran. I am not sure of the full story behind it though.

I was in Iran this year and it is true that women are forced to wear the hijab and others also choose to wear it, so no, I cannot be certain that the woman in the picture would choose not to wear it. In any case, I traced her picture, not because of her attire, but rather because of her inspiring & motivational picture. If I had displayed Neda, we would not be discussing her attire.
