I didn't shave for 180 days, It grew to 4 1/4". I only shaved because it was super hot in the summer to have a beard in Florida. If I ever let it grow I will do the yeard. But for now is clean shaved all the time.
my beard doesnt really have bald spots but in some places the hair is much lighter in color than the rest of it, will that get darker as i let it grow or should i shave it and try again?
BTW, my dad has had a beard for almost 35 years, he is lucky and has awesome coverage (unlike me), he has had a full beard since he was 19-20. He said to keep trimming your beard and it will grow in stronger each time.
I left comments on your channel, i have an update i said was growing my beard for 3 months until my 23rd birthday... which ironically is the day you posted this... after 9 weeks i trimmed it, i couldn't take the comments from people, it was a little patchy but i liked it, it looked a lot better, i grew it out for a few more weeks and shaved it. I am going to shave until september than i am planning to grow it out for 3 months.... wish me luck.
Growing a thick full beard is completely dependent on one's genetics. It takes just the right amount of testosterone. Too much and you'll have a full beard and hairy chest, but lose all the hair on top of your head. Too little and you'll end up with a thin patchy nasty looking beard. Also, some ethnicities just can't grow nice beards because being hairy is not in their genes, i.e., Native Americans and Asians.
