  • I honestly like the way her and Gale parted because it fitted Gale's personality PERFECTLY!! Gales always whiny and bitchy and becomes a little kid when it comes to Katniss not loving him and what do kids do when they can't handle something? They run away and ignore it and that's what Gale did. While they'll always have history there will always be the fact that Gale indirectly killed Prim

  • You opened my mind for that 3rd book!!! I was completely unforgiving on how suzanne Collins ended it but I guess it is a satisfying ending! I completely agree with you!

  • READ IF YOU WANT ALL 3 BOOKS FOR FREE :)

I just read all 3 books and their so amazing! can't wait for the movie(: and I also figured out this way on how to get all three books on

iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad, completely free! check out my video if u Want them! :)

like this comment so people can see it and they will also be able to get all 3 books for free! enjoy :)

  • I'm only on chapter one of catching fire but I know how everything plays out.. I HATE the way the epilogue ended. How katniss just kinda said "ohh well peeta wanted to have kids so whatever we had kids.." I wanted her to end up with him cuz I don't like gale. TEAM PEETA!! but katniss was kindly a bitch..

  • wanna date? you look like a sexy chick. i have a fackbook account: thehungergames4timewinner2

  • I SO agree about Prim! We were being told that Prim was this and that and how much Katniss loved her, but we never truly knew why.

  • ...I felt her settling for Peeta defeated the point of Gales comment about how she'll only be with whoever she can't survive without, because she never chose Peeta, he just came home and was just there at night when she had her nightmares to hold her, she didn't ask for him to come back. And when she says he kept asking her for children and she didn't want any just made him look desperate in a way. Then again at least it wasn't sugar coated like the god awful ending to Harry Potter.

  • I was rooting for Gale too, and I was saddened by their departing conversation, after all they've been through together I felt they could at least still know each other later in life, rather than becoming strangers to one another with Gale in District 2 in his fancy job, and Katniss with her children.

  • I love the trilogy!! The 1st book left me broken hearted & upset! The 2nd proved my suspicions of who she really loved but was too scared to admit it! The 3rd just tore me apart but suzanne collins just left me elated by the last page before the epilogue! I was on a high really! It's just terrible that we have to wait so long between movies!! I've earmarked the pages of the parts I loved most & will continue to read them over again until my 'hunger' is satisfied! LOL

  • I agree with absolutely everything you said! I loved the whole trilogy and how it ended too! I just didn't like the whole Gale and Peeta ending either. I'm happy I liked it!:)

  • @mariadelta19 SPOILER!

  • Comment removed

  • @mariadelta19 thanks for the spoiler mate

  • @iHeadphonist Oh God, I was so sure I posted that comment on the other review video that was all about all three books... I'm so sorry. I deleted my commet. Really sorry, it was a stupid mistake^^

  • The thing I didn't like was that in the third book gale just kinda left I know he had to so he could mine and stuff but it made me sad. I wish Madge was alive and they got together that would have been cool!! Great video!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it was lazy that they didntshow the trial after she shoots coin.

  • I just finished the last book tonight, and I did enjoy it as well! It was really curt and to the point, and so, like you, I wished there was more detail. I felt that Katniss's character was lacking the most of everything in the first book, but then she began to come to life in the next two books.

As for which boy... I was alway rooting for Peeta!

  • I saw this review just before I read the books and didn't watch it because of the spoilers, so I waited until I finished them all to watch it, and I'm pleased to say I couldn't agree more with your opinion of the books! Especially when she has to go back into the arena, I thought "I don't want to read it again!" but as it turned out it was worth it, and not repetitive at all. All in all, brilliant books, very well written and a great change to your usual teenage fiction.

  • I hear the trilogy in about a week, just finished the third book last night and I just want to read it again because its suck a good book! It just wants to make read it again and again.

  • @olciademoncia read*

  • I really would like to read the hunger games and clockwork prince

  • I read them all in three days. I just LOVED this series...

  • i love this book, the first one is my favorite. i read all of them twice and i just cant put them down!!!

  • this book is such an experiance!! reading it is just going into another world!! I love it so so much !!

  • seriously got goosebumps when you said "death of prim" ...to me that part was so unexpected!

  • omg your make up and everything it's so beautiful you look beautiful! (:

  • I loved the ending. I love how Katniss just didn't magically get better, she will always be damaged by what happened. Love the books.

  • thanks for the review, you pretty much summed it up. The ending was a little rushed but realistic is the perfect way to describe it :)

  • The Hunger Games > Twilight

  • @offexion Really? Not this again.

  • @ab211125 Its so true it must be said

  • @offexion They're completely different books. You can't even compare them.

  • @ab211125 The thing is that I can compare Twilight to nearly ANY book, even within its genre, and I still perceive it as a turd. For other writers to see that the Twilight books became so successful is humiliating. It has zero plot line, flat characters, and nothing happens throughout the whole saga. Books like the Hunger Games (which were NOT written just for the author to pleasure themselves over) deserve to be a phenomenon in place of Twilight. Good thing there's still harry potter

  • @offexion I really hope you actually read the books, since you obviously have a strong opinion about them. You may think the twilight books are crap but a lot of people enjoyed them. I agree the books were not an amazing read and a 5 year old can comprehend the story but I still think comparing The Hunger Games to Twilight is demeaning to both of the authors.

  • @ab211125 Yes ive read all the books so i know what im saying. Do you think that when something is popular it means it's "good"? Justin bieber is an example of things being popular but not necessarily good. Mind you, i think justin bieber has the potential to make much better music and Smeyer probably has the potential to write better books. When an author chooses to publish their own stories and let the world see them then they have to expect judgement or keep it for themselves only

  • nice video. you're pretty :>

  • Comment on 11:14 in the video. When I read through the book I kinda felt like that happened when they were hiding in the fashion ladies store in the capitol in the third book. I don't really know why I think that but that's when I remember feeling like that's the moment the character really was going to be with him. Maybe also the fact that she really didn't care about him possibly doing something horrible to her because he was hijacked. Haha :) She just wanted Peeta back.

  • of course it's not instant and Katniss goes crazy a little first rofl

  • Thumbs up if you already loved The Hunger Games before the movie trailer got out!

  • The thing i dont agree with is i dont think Katniss is the type to say "i love you come back with me" but she made the desicion to stay with Peeta. But the ending was kinda sudden...:)

  • OMG i agree with like EVERY word u said! (except i was always rooting for peeta ;P)

  • @Brain192813 its based on the future of north america a harsh dictatorship controlled by 1 country. Panem(north america) has 12 districts and the ruler the capitol district keeps them on check one time before th 13th district made an uprising and the capitol destroyed them so to tell all the distr. Not to revolt they hold an annual event called the hunger games because the districts are poor And cant eat. So the capitol chooses 1 man and 1 women to participate in these games here it tells how 1

  • Can someone explain what hunger games is about because some of my friends say it's a good book but what is it?

  • Megan fox!

  • I thought it was sad how their kids don't have names......

  • Visit my channel to see new leaked hunger games clip

  • dog

  • When you say lit chat, it sounds like lip chapped.

  • Best books ever no lie nuff said best series. It's bound to be the best movie too!

  • i love these books they are amazing books! i totally agree with like almost everything you said. cant wait for the movie!!

  • I completely agree. I felt that it could actually happen in the future, the author described it so, almost realistically. I was definitly please with all of them. The author definitly made the entire series end realistic, unlike most other big time "hollywood" books, it makes sense. I really can't wait to see how they play out the movie.

  • Have you read George R R Martin's books? They are fantasy, but I think you might really like them. The characters are very developed, the POVs vary, there is intrigue and the whole world is so well described. Also, it's been made into a series (by HBO), which is also very awesome, but I recommend reading the books first. I don't know, I would love for you to consider it :)

Oh, also, it's not young adult, but it's really good.

  • I was Pissed off because Katniss stayed with Peeta >:b

  • I back up almost every single one of your opinions except for the one about Peeta and the hijacking being irreversible, because you could notice that as the war went on, Peeta began to tell the fake memories apart from the real ones and therefore he could distinguish true from false, allowing him to lead a more normal life with Katniss in the end.

  • I love The Hunger Games! It is the BEST books ever!!

  • This is very true. I too was kinda disappointed at the ending because the resolution didn't make much sense either.

    BTW you look gorgeous :]

  • I agree with your review 100%

  • yes, the ending was rushed. I agree with that. and your entire review.

I wish there had been more with Katniss and Gale only because of the way it eneded. The ending could've made a whole BOOK 4

  • I love that you multi-task! Make up then book review! :)

  • Cliche romance??---- TWILIGHT MUCH?!?!

  • I love books and reading but I've never heard of distophia or however it is spelled? Also, have you read the Inheritance Cycle? If not you definitely should.

  • The trailer makes me cry EVERY time I see it. I'm thinking of reading the trilogy again.

  • Whenever I pass by the bookstore I always see the Hunger Games, but I'm so scared to read it since there is going to be a movie on it and whenever I see a movie based on a book it really ruins it for me. Ahhhhhhhhh I don't know what to do lol!!!

  • i hate reading, but absolutely loved the hunger games. cant wait for the movie!

  • you look so pretty! I love your makeup like that :)

  • I'm halfway done with the 3rd book right now...I guess I'll watch this video after I finish >.<

  • I don't want this to sound creepy but I would love to have you as a friend :) I just find that I have the same interests and so many similar opionions :) x

  • @sylwienzik Aw I'm happy that you feel that way :)

  • I am not an avid reader by any means but picked up the first book after seeing the trailer to the movie... Omg I was hooked Suzanne Collins writing is so engaging I just couldn't put the book down. I loved the trilogy. I wouldn't change a thing, I thought it ended perfectly. Ps please please do a tutorial on your eye look. Looks awesome

  • @MsZahori45 She did -- its the one for Lady Gaga's Marry the Night video.

  • I got the first book of the trilogy after I saw your other video, and just fell in love with it!!! I was done with it within a day, and then I was just dying waiting to get the two other ones. It lasted just a couple of days though, but I just could not wait to read further.

So, thanks A LOT for that video! otherwise I don't know whether I'd read it at all...

  • *spoiler* I agree with you on the romance... I just wanted her to be with Gale! I don't know why, Peeta sort of annoyed me throughout the whole series. The 1st was really good, I felt the 2nd was rushed and glossed over the districts and a lot of the description she could have done.

  • You have beautiful makeup :)

  • Hey Julia, I'm here to recommend some books by a Spanish author named Carlos Ruiz Zafón, have you ever heard of him? The books are: The game of the angel, the shadow of the wind, and the prisoner of heaven (this one just came out here in Spain). I don't know if these are the actual names but translating literally that's what they should be called. They're all telling one long story, it seems disconnected but the fourth book, yet to be released, will bring the whole thing together.

  • @MRavaraVago Anyway, it's really worth it, the second book, "shadow of the wind", was considered here in Spain one of the best books in the last 25 years, and is one of the best books i've ever read, i've recommended it to all my friends and family and have given it as a gift countless times.

  • @MRavaraVago Thanks! I will check it out for sure

  • your makin me want to read the hunger games 10 times!

  • Even though I loved the books, it's just a blatant rip off of Battle Royale - which did it better 20 times over.

  • I loooved this series. It had me laughinh, crying, nervous, etc., BUT the ending of the last book was extremely unsatisfying for me. I was left with a lot of questions... After I hit the last page I was like, "That's it?!?! WTF!!" Regardless of how it ended, the trilogy itself as a whole is an amazing read..

  • The Hunger Gmes is such a amazing series!! i love it and cant wait till the movie!

  • You're right that she doesn't choose him. It was like, okay the author got rid of Gale as conveniently as she could and Katniss was never given any agency regarding her relationships. My biggest disappointment with the series is basically Katniss's ending-- how she just marries Peeta and has children, when the fact that she didn't want children was something I loved about her. Her ending with Peeta was rushed and far too neat.

  • I just read them about two months ago and loved them cant wait to see the movie....I am now reading the Dark Hunter series and am in love...they are a romance vampire book but I love the story line ... you should check them out if you haven't.

  • I'm excited for Lenny as Cinna! But I always pictured Peeta a bit more chubbier and Gale more native american looking. I think that would've made them more interesting and let's face it, not so white.

  • Really good review. I agreed with you on almost everything. I LOVE these books.

  • Cannot wait to watch the movie, and read the last two books!!! :)

  • I'm sorry, these books are ok for 8th graders... a hero will rise and overthrow the oppressors - This is an old story of messianic themes and of christians being fed to lions. Katniss is cuter than Jesus maybe... dressed better for the slaughter and given a fighting chance... and in best fantasy and sci fi... overcomes the strongmen. More it is about how we worship a hero and find meaning and make religion out of troubled times. It pumps the endorphins and we can't resist watching the games.

  • Lit Chat yay!!!!!!!!! I'm almost done with the 2nd book and it's awesome so far. When I'm done with all three I'll come back to watch this video, I think I may even go see the movie when it comes out :)

    Awesome look btw.

  • I just wanted to say that you look so good! I saw the other video and you look so much different! I am know two month in my diet and i've got so much inspiration from you! I know this is about the books but i just wanted to say it ;)! I hope you make more food-video's :D

  • the hunger ganes were BY FAR my absolute FAVORITE books everrr

  • And I liked the trailer, can't wait the movie, but not too happy about Peeta and Gale casting :P

  • Thanks to your first LitChat (which I looove btw) I was first introduced to Hunger Games! And I loved it and re-read it many times since. The first one is also my favourite, and I agree on your thoughts for second and third. Only I was team Peeta all the way :) I felt too their ending was a bit rushed, but other than that Mockingjay was realistic and big thumps up for killing Coin, she was just like Snow! Anyway like you, I tried many others dystopian novels but nothing really compares to HG.

  • I read the whole serie and I just love it it's a complete new way of fiction. Not with vampires and that kind of stuff but new. I just can't wait for the movie!

  • Realistic is the exact word ive chosen to describe how mockingjay ended. It was depressing for me in the end because im so use to the happy endings but the thought of how scarred all of their lives were was just really sad. Although now i cannot wait for the movie to come out. I hope they do the book justice.

  • I feel so bad for Gale, I wished Gale would be the one :(((((((

  • You just summed up exactly what I thoughts about the books!! Mockingjay did have a rushed ending but hopefully, the movies will translate the epilogue better than the book did! By the way, The Hunger Games was also the series that pulled me into dystopian YA as well!!! I guess the Divergent trilogy will be the single one among all the dystopian novels that could probably match The Hunger Games!!! Thanks for your review!! :)

  • :o wow i really love your book reviews. You go really in depth and not just prance around the surface and give a shallow review. keep these reviews coming :)

  • Happy Holidays... Can you do a make up tutorial on your look? Its gorgeous

  • @butterfly981978 It's the Lady Gaga look she did.

  • try« the giver», its really good!

  • YES! there was basically nothing on Prim, which I thought was totally weird! I hope they at least show Katniss' love for Prim in the movies, or there's no point in Katniss becoming the Mockingjay, just sayin'

  • i totally agree with your view on the ending. i think it was rushed too and i wasnt content at all about the conclusion of peeta appearing out of nowhere, gale disappearing to somewhere and katniss just settling. i think what happened was acceptable but the author should have gone into greater detail on how it happened to give the story more closure. apart from that the hunger games trilogy was amazing :)

  • your makeup looks fierce as usual :)

  • Befriended you on goodreads :) I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS TRILOGY! I got my sister hooked, too! Happy Holidays

  • You look like Megan Fox in this one :)! Your eyes are gorgeous and so mesmerizing haha!

  • Hey, can you do the makeup look from this video? It's so beautiful :) --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • i totally agree about how katniss just settled for peeta! i was totally rooting for peeta and believe he deserved better. katniss wasnt my most liked character so...yeah.

  • I LOOOVE loved the Hunger games <3 Such an amazing series. I can not wait for the movie!

  • the 2nd book was my fav <3 finnick is my hubby lol in my dreams

  • I can't wait for the movie!!!!!

  • you should read the Percy Jackson books there amazing and the actor who plays him in the films is lush!! :)

  • i loved your review of the hunger games. i read the first while in hospital after having my 2nd son and as soon as i got out i went to a book shop and bought the 2nd and 3rd.. the first was my fav.. i actually wanted more of the hunger games in the 2nd.. and the 3rd i was meh about i didn't love it. but i didn't hate it

  • I love the books...

  • And I love my kindle too!! I just got the new kindle fire and its just sooo awesome!!

  • Awesome review!! I love the trilogy I just read it myself after i saw the trailer and so now I'm even more excited to watch it.

  • Your makeup is gorgeous!

  • I don't read a lot, because generally books don't interest me...but I could not put this book down....

  • Ah me again ^-^ I routed for Peeta the whole time, because he had the guts to actually tell Katniss he loves her. Unlike another gentleman...-.- And I am also extremly happy with the cast, except for the guy playing Snow. He looks WAY to nice and not evil enough. Peeta is actually 100% as I pictured him, and Gale is close, just a little not pretty enough. ;)

  • @HelixturnHelix Donald sutherland!? hes the father of Jack Bauer! he is definately Evil

  • Okay, that was the best review I've ever heard! Your opinion is SO true, never thought...You can really talk! & I love The Hunger Games!

Btw, I read it in German, is it better in English? I'm not sure if I should buy them in English, too...

And I'm soo excited for the movie(s), from the trailer, it seems really good!

  • @twilightashtisdalepw Thanks! I didn't read it in German, but reading any book in its original language if you can is always better than a translation.

  • @twilightashtisdalepw I read it in both languages and I have to say it is way better in english

  • @Sterndli98 Well, thanks! Then I'll straight go and buy the english one :)

  • he said, she gonna believe it was him anyway, he was right. And what more should she say to a former friend, she believes killed her sister?

So the rushed Peeta-Katniss ending is pretty much the only thing I am disappointed about, wait no, I really hate it that Finnick had to die! One of my fav characters and then dead. :( Also there are minor things that I really would have liked more information about, like how the heck did Caito kill Thresh?!? But in total I adore the whole series! <3

  • You look gorgeous. Like a model.

  • I actually only read the books, because you tweeted a link to the trailer. ^^ I thought it looked amazing, and I wanted to know what it was and that easy I was hooked. ;) I absolutely love the books but I have to agree with you, the ending is not thouth-out as well as the rest of the story is. In my opinion she really grew to love Peeta, so yes chose him but I really wanted to be part of that process, so yeah kinda disappointed. The ending with Gale on the other hand is believable I think. When

  • I totally agree with you in everything. For me, Katniss doesn't love Peeta like he does. She stayed with him just because he was there with her.

  • It was very interesting to hear another point of viwe about these books.

I agree with you most of the time!!

BUT I have to admit that in my oppinion that it's realistic she didn't choose Peeta by herself.

In the 3. book Gale says she'd pick the guy who helps her to survive. And thats - in this particular situation - Peeta, because he's with her in district 12 while Gale works for the rebels.

I guess for the films I'd wait until i read some critics, because i dont want to be disappointed.

  • @TheJollily I agree. Gale did say that. And the fact that he "suddenly" was over the brain washed.. I think I read where he said remembered he loved her. And knew that he was brain washed,or something like that. So I too it that while they were separated he worked hard to get back to her.I'm actually really happy with the books.Only thing I didn't like is the fact that Prim died. Other than that I LOVE this series. This series and the Iron King by Julie Kagawa. I can't stop reading.

  • I read the 1st book... Loved it! You are completely right about how the characters are well-written. You kind of get attached to them, which is important for me as a reader. The 2nd and 3rd books are still hardcover only so I'm waiting. Meanwhile I started The Maze Runner, which I like as well. The storyline is quite intense. The only thing I don't love is how the characters are kinda flat (but having lost their memory, it's kinda expected). Now I really want to read The Hunger Games again!!!!

  • Loved this trilogy! it def did not seem like a young adult book.

  • I agree this is one of the best trilogys in such a long while. It didn't seem like a YA book. I loved the developement of the characters and the depth of the world, you could just see where they were living and what they experienced. Also, I have trouble dividing the three books, rather I think of them as one. But the ending does seem to be an afterthought, As if she thought she needed to add a "wrap it up" chapter.

The movie was partially filmed in my city, so I think it will be interesting.

  • @TeresaNC1 Oh that's so cool, where is it filmed?

  • @TheThirdShift Hildebran, North Carolina. I'm 30 minutes away from there, haha.

  • @TeresaNC1 YOU'RE IN NORTH CAROLINA TOO? I'm 30 minutes away from where it was filmed.

  • Usually book reviews bore me but i gotta say, I really enjoyed the depth you brought to this description. Very educated response.

I agree that this trilogy is not just for a certain audience, like say Twilight..*rolling eyes*

Parts of the first book really disturbed me..which left me pleasantly surprised.

If you haven't read the Kushiel Legacy by Jacqueline Carey, you should read that next. I would love to hear your review.

  • the books were ok. I liked the first better, the second really surprised me and the third was awful, I couldn't even read it entirely, was too boring and technical. But I liked the end.

  • Oh!

  • I agree about the ending of Mockingjay. The whole time I was reading it, it made me feel so depressed. It was just so fast. Like Coin is dead, Snow is awaiting trial, and Katniss was on the brink of a mental breakdown.

  • I wasn't really mind who Katniss ended up with. She went through so much with both of them and couldn't live without both of them. The part between Peeta and Katniss that really melted my heart is when (i can't remember who said it) but whoever it is says: do you love me? real or not real? and he/she said real. DYING!

  • I liked Gale more than Peeta, too, but I think the ending was pretty realistic and I was really happy with the way she ended it, I don't think I would have liked it as much if Katniss ended up with Gale.

  • i loved this trilogy!! i recommend reading the mortal instruments, and the maze runner trilogy !! their my favorite 3 series!!! :)

  • i really liked that katniss didn't choose peeta, because i felt like she was just perpetually numb, and it made sense to me that she just settled for him, that she would never really feel anything like that again. when you've seen and done all that she has, everything probably seems petty and useless. i loved the sad ending. :)

  • I have to say, I enjoyed the books for the most part, but the ending was HORRIBLE. they killed off everyone who mattered, and the government was still all messed up. It was depressing and I hated thinking about it after I finished the book. It also seemed rushed and just kind of ended... almost like the author wrote: and they lived miserably ever after. yuck.

  • Loved the trilogy!

  • i totally agree with all of your opinions about gale and katniss, really great books!

  • Love this trilogy. Ecstatic about the movie!

  • I also read this three books and I LOVED THEM

  • My favorite make-up guru doing a review on one of my favorite trilogies ! :) How nice

  • I have to say that I was extremely disappointed. First, in the writing style of the first book. It's possible that I was just annoyed about living the world through the eyes of a sixteen year old, but sheesh! And the rushed ending of the 3rd book didn't make sense.

It seems like when an author wants to create suspense, they make the protagonist as stupid as possible. Ugh! They're good, just over-hyped I think. I can't wait for the movies though.

  • @lavinder11

About Peeta and Katniss ending up together, that reminded me of what Gale said saying that she'll end up with whoever she can't live without. So that ending didn't upset me.

  • This has been one of my daughters favorite series! --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • Also, Shatter Me really was silly. O.o Seriously, what the hell was that ending?

  • @ssaemblog leotard ftw

  • Hm, once I get my Kindle I'm going to have to get over the whole Battle Royale thing and attempt to get through the first Hunger Games book again, hah. That movie was filmed 30 minutes away from my house.

  • The Hunger Games was such a AMAZING book series <3 the first one was and always will be my favourite one out of the series =3 I am really happy with the cast of the movie ~

  • omg yay, i actually made it. (:

YOU'RE AMAZING. and these books are awesome.

    you're a total inspiration! <3

  • Argh! I just finished the first book, but I bought the whole trilogy. I'm saving this video for when I've read them all, don't want any spoilers! :)

However, I have a comment for the trailer. The boy they casted for Peeta is nothing like I had imagined Peeta would be / look like. He seems too young!

  • My daughters favourite books xx

  • second!
