If Lelouch is dead, why was it necessary to hide the driver's face? They must have known that it was more than suspicious. If they really intended for Lelouch to be dead, they would have put some random guy in thier, but didn't. And because they didn't, despit esaying he is dead, left too much clues to say otherwise. A lot of things point to L. being immortally alive (like the memories seen by N. and CC being happy in the end + talking to L.), yet it is not said openly. It is a nice mystery, just like the real name of CC. At the very least it makes people to think and argue.

This video was BS -__-. I hate fake videos. On the upside, i found the comments section here very interesting, as a lot of people posed plausible and thought prevoking ideas on Lelouches death. I prefer to think he got the code CC and so did not die, but that's because i just don't want to believe such an amazing story and series could die after only 2 seasons :/. And, while this may have simply been symbolism, Lelouch gives Suzaku a geass right before his "death". Possibly to force anyone to recognize him as Zero. But even disregarding that last bit of information, there is plenty of evidence that Lelouch is alive.
Her wish was most likely to be truly loved forever or to die happily. If you recall what Lelouch yells to C.C. after being in C's world, he clearly says he understands what her geass power was and what her true wish was. Another factor is that C.C. had fallen in love with Lelouch. And considering her geass power's effects on her own mind and perspective, she would most likely be praying for Lelouch to stay with her.
But just like when people touched C.C. they saw her past, she sees Lelouch's actions and past by touching him. If you noticed, C.C. is praying for Lelouch during the Zero Requiem. And she sees immortality as bad due to her always being alone. So she would logically be praying for his death so he wouldn't share her fate, or she would be praying for him to live so they could be together forever. She was happy at the end, yet she was once again "all alone".
He also has an obligation to C.C. to make her "smile". A very suggestive eternal love type situation. When Nunnally touches Lelouch's hand and sees everything he did, some people say it is due to her being able to "see into people's hearts" but she only uses that ability to tell when someone is Lying or to get the gist of something. She didn't know Suzaku was a knightmare pilot when she touched his hand in the beginning.
Here is why Lelouch is alive: Geass works on you until you die and you have geass until you die. This is why the nun stabbed C.C. when she gave her the code. By doing this she got rid of C.C.'s geass, which is what she had wanted and was able to finally die. Lelouch has his geass the whole series, but he no longer fears death at all after defeating Charles, even though for his plan to work he needed to live more than before. Having the code would allow him to "die" and just come right back.
Lelouch's character is not always easy to read or understand even if you watch each episode consecutively, sometimes he seems like a hero, other times he seems selfish. If his plan had been to live you would have to wonder if his intentions were to create a better world for himself. The fact that he dies proves that his plan was to create a better world for others. He did not place a higher value on his own life than those he sacrificed.
lol Lelouch survives. when he is killed, because he had the geass power, he became immortal, just as his father did when Lelouch first sought to kill him. When he shot him, he died, but came back immortal because of the geass power. So Lelouch is alive. And if not, do you really believe people who cared to protect him so much would just let the new zero in the end through to assassinate him?
Like Lord Jeremiah for example. He let him pass because he knew. If he didnt, he would not have been let through so easily if at all. And as for Suzaku, he was the new Zero doing the deed because he knew Lelouch would come back based on what happened with Lelouchs' father as well as C2's word. And as for C2, she would not have let him die so easily either. And she is talking to him in the end too. And so concludes my proof that Lelouch was not silenced as a living being.
HI, I am of the opinion he is alive the immortality that passes down does not just vanish. CC was forced into it cause it cant be gotten rid of any other way she was going to pass it down to get rid of it. Also When Lelouch got stabbed by Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. that y Nunnally got his memories when she touched him, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. this could only happened is his Code activating. This confirms that he has the Code.Unlike C.C nd Charles, who lost their Geasses cuz the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn’t obtain C.C.’s Code and kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS.
He got his dad's code when he killed him back is Cs world & became immortal but he was unaware of this. So actually planned to die that day but the code was activated when he received a mortal wound. More proof to this is when Nunnaly grabs his hand & gets the visions of what happened just like when C.C grabbed Suzaku's knightmare, or when he grabbed C.C in the cave & saw some of her past. Also just before he gets killed C.C is in the church crying because she thinks he is going to die for real
If Kallen discovered he's alive, he'd try to explain his immortality only to be punched muliplte times by her until he's exhausted and then finally she'd kiss him in his wounded lips, saying she's forgiven him. Would be romantic. Shame he lost such cool woman in his life.
Even if he really is immortal, he lost everything and everyone. If anybody discoveres him alive, he'll be the most wanted man of the planet with nowhere left to hide. He cannot even visit his beloved sis, that's what he'll miss the most. It's so sad, that's a price of immortality - loneliness and sadness.
People,we talk about our almighty Lelouch,how many miracles did he do during the series? Exactly. If you watch the secret ending you can see his face + my hypothesis ( After C . C retrieved her memories,her CODE transfered to Lelouch making him resistant to physical harm,meaning his death is not justified well. All those being said,who knows?Remember watching R2 first episodes and go like "What the hell happened"?Probably something similar could repeat.
Ontop of that; after just rewatching the series and paying close attention to things, one thing did stick out in the end. Not so much that C.C said "Right Lelouche?" but rather she said prior "Not quite accurate." That implys to me that Lelouche would now be forced into a life of solitude (as said in the opening/ending and the show a million times), but not quite accurate because it would be with C.C. I find personally his death AND survival to be canon so I guess in the end the reader chooses.
Lelouche has stated that living a life of solitude and isolation might as well be dead. He said this to Charles as he attempted to seal them together inside the with Ragnarok Junction. It doesn't make you a hypocrite to not die if you consider the fact that Nina, Schneizel, Nunally, Suzaku, and all the other mass-murderers of this series survived. Also; if he obtained the code from charles on accident it's not his fault he survived.

Lelouch planned this all along. His own assassination, so that the world would be a safer and kinder place to live. He's an immortal now because he possesses Charles Di Britannia's code for immortality(which was taken from VV). He also has the power of Geass bestowed upon him by CC. Therefore,he's alive and kicking with Geass.
@maxiummadface His father wasn't immortal when he gave birth, he got it when stealing V.V.'s code when he broke their contract by lying to him.
The only way shown to get immortal in this series is by making a contract with someone with a code and then taking their code when the contract is broken (or fullfilled when it comes to C.C. and the woman who gave her a geass long ago, but that's only because their wish was to die).
@RareSmartPerson12 Lelouch could have granted C.C.'s wish, but it's not shown on screen. It does fit his personality though, to fullfill her wish and taking the burden of being immortal upon himself.
He would need to have tricked Suzaku though, one of the main reasons he agreed to cooperate with Lelouch is to get to kill him in the end (Lelouch is too self sacrificing to tell him that he agreed to Euphy's plan and geassed her by mistake, he wants Suzaku to hate him so that he can have peace).

Most people realize the first 2 but I'll just restate them for the sake of argument:
1.Geass users are not immortal, Mao and Bismarck both die
2.Geass users who obtain a code lose their original Geass powers, after Charles recieves the code he can no longer rewrite memories.
3.The fact that Lelouch dies is what shows his resolve for a better world, It's what seperates him from hypocits like Light who claim to act in the name of justice, but in the end care only for their own ambitions
BTW has everyone already seen the picture drama they released? It's called code geass: The Miraculous Birthday. It will make anyone that believes Lelouch is alive rethink their opinion.

Well here is how i see it. This is the internet. Information is easily fabricated and easily altered. So i just see this as a mystery. Personally i dont care if he died or if he lives; either way it makes for a great ending. Dying nobly or living peacefully. Regardless at the end he earns the viewers respect and admiration for the great thing he was able to accomplice regardless of how rocky he started out.
Director Goro Taniguchi states that it's up to the viewers to decide how they want to interpret the ending, but that he himself likes to see it as a happy ending.

As much as I like Lelouch's character, I think it would be a better ending for him to be dead. His death shows how much the world has changed, for everybody, especially Suzaku and Nunnally. It's just my opinion though.

@BluespotsFurry She could only talk to her because of the nature of her Geass which allowed her to implant herself into the "hearts" of others. That's how she was able to talk with Marianne. Lelouch's Geass was entirely different, meaning that she could only have spoken to him if he was there.
@BluespotsFurry CC talked to Marianne through Anya (the pink haired knight of rounds). Marianne's Geass was to be able to possess other people (basically), and when VV 'killed' Marianne, right before her body died, she used her Geass to transfer herself into Anya as a child.
1. When Lelouch kills Charles, he gains his father's "Code". The "Code" is also "Immortality". That's why Lelouch had the Geass Symbol in both his eyes. He had gained "Code Geass". and in order to complete the immortality, he MUST be killed. That's why he asked Suzaku to kill him.

@Soranraizer I agree, as much as I like Lelouch the plot only makes sense if he dies. As he says throughout the series "the only ones who should kill are those prepared to be killed". Whether the ends justify the means or not Lelouch kills a ton of people. If he survived it would make him a hypocrit and raise the question of whether or not his actions were self serving. In the end he chooses to sacrifice his life for the good of the people and die as a villian. This shows he is a true hero.
Fact 1: If a code is obtained you become immortal.
Fact 2: As an immortal you can let people see images of the past.
Hint 1: Throughout the whole series if you are a sincere watcher you know lelouch would NEVER let nunnaly live without him overseeing everything.
Hint 2: A result of all his actions: severing all the bonds with his friends and family while living= a far more cruel punishment than death. So that would be his true redemption.
Fact 1: As I said before Lelouch could not have obtained the code because he still retained his Geass.
Fact 2: As a result of losing her sight Nunally has a strange ability to interpret people's intentions by touching their hands there is evidence in R2 Episode 7 aprox. 6 minutes with Suzaku, and decisively in R2 episode 15 aprox.13.5 minutes, after hearing a redevelopment plan Nunnally asks Alicia Lohmeyer for her hand and realizes she is lying.
at fact 1: It is possible that after taking the code it remains dormant and the geass is active till the bearer first death. Hence the condition of dying before becoming immortal. In case of VV+Charles, causing a fatal wound was enough. That is equal to "causing" a death.
at fact 2: Seeing one's memories is not "interpreting" their emotions but getting accurate information. In theory if normal people lie their hand is in a sweat. That could be felt by N.
Fact 1: How exactly the code is activated is never revealed so it's difficult to use as evidence, but in the series the code is taken as the previous CODE OWNER dies (not later), and it is never proven that the GEASS USER must die, Charles is not shown dying in order to take VV's code and CC is questionable.
Fact 2: True, but the montage may be metaphorical, Nunnaly may be realizing Lelouch's intentions and the purpose of his actions, not actually reliving his memories.
Hint 1: I've watched the entire series several times and I believe Lelouch would die if he thought it would give Nunnally a better future (living would put her at risk) and Lelouch specifically leaves Suzaku to watch over her.
Hint 2: Whether Lelouch dies or not he severs the bonds with his friends, apart from CC (so I don't see how living is crueler), but it is shown that after his death his closest friends realize his true intentions.
at hint 1: technically L. died in the eyes of the world, if he is revealed to be alive his plan fails. He disappeared and no one (except for CC) knew he had the potential to become immortal. Not even Spinzaku, who was there when Charles died.
at hint 2: As I said no one knew he can become immortal, also the thing that "living is more cruel" comes from CC. whose only wish for hundreds of years was to die.
Hint 1: True, but that does not indicate whether he lived or not (and there would still be a risk of discovery if he was alive)
Hint 2: I'll leave it up to the viewers to determine whether or not living for eternity in peace with CC is crueler than the ("Collective Unconcious"), but either way I don't think Lelouch's death was meant to be a punishment. To be fair the author himself said he was dead but there is a lot of evidence saying he is alive however what u show was not the evidence one was photo shop and the other was just 2 eyes under a hood the real evidence would be how at the end of Ep 25 he ask Suzaku to be zero and Suzaku answer saying he accept this geass saying maybe he has the power to give geass which would only lead to the fact u have to have the code to grant geass powers to other people and having the code means u can't die

It bugs me when people assume things. Everywhere, i read people saying that "of course he was pulling the cart. who else would would c.c be talking too." Well she talked to Lelouch's mother through most of the anime even though she wasnt there. I kinda like the fact that they gave the cryptic ending. The anime creators didnt want to make it obvious he was dead they wanted it to be a mystery. Maybe he was puling the cart, maybe she was talking to him though C's world, Feel free to speculate.

His code activated when he was stabbed by zerozaku. Remember when CHarles was shot by LElouch?he was knocked out. His code then activated. Also when C.C got her code she was knocked out. When lelouch was stabbed his code then activated.

You dont need a contract with someone to have both Immortality and the geass. He took the geass from C.C and code from Charles why do you think the show is called code geass? In the end it is left up to the viewer to decide, I don't know if any of these alternate versions are accurate but I thought that CC's words were an implication that his consciousness still exists. Sort of in the same sense as his mother earlier in the series, if you notice throughout the series CC will have conversations with Marianne and she almost always ends them with the word Marianne. This could parallel with her final conversation and ending "isn't that right Lelouch.

If you recall what Lelouch yells to C.C. after being in C's world, he clearly says he understands what her geass power was and what her true wish was. Another factor is that C.C. had fallen in love with Lelouch. And considering her geass power's effects on her own mind and perspective, she would most likely be praying for Lelouch to stay with her.

Here is why Lelouch is alive: Geass works on you until you die and you have geass until you die. This is why the nun stabbed C.C. when she gave her the code. By doing this she got rid of C.C.'s geass, which is what she had wanted and was able to finally die. Lelouch has his geass the whole series, but he no longer fears death at all after defeating Charles, even though for his plan to work he needed to live more than before. Having the code would allow him to "die" and just come right back.

If his plan had been to live you would have to wonder if his intentions were to create a better world for himself. The fact that he dies proves that his plan was to create a better world for others. Not so much that C.C said "Right Lelouche?" but rather she said prior "Not quite accurate." That implys to me that Lelouche would now be forced into a life of solitude (as said in the opening/ending and the show a million times), but not quite accurate because it would be with C.C. I find personally his death AND survival to be canon so I guess in the end the reader chooses.

The only way shown to get immortal in this series is by making a contract with someone with a code and then taking their code when the contract is broken (or fullfilled when it comes to C.C. and the woman who gave her a geass long ago, but that's only because their wish was to die).

2.Geass users who obtain a code lose their original Geass powers, after Charles recieves the code he can no longer rewrite memories.

Here's some main proof that he's alive.
1. When Lelouch kills Charles, he gains his father's "Code". The "Code" is also "Immortality". That's why Lelouch had the Geass Symbol in both his eyes. He had gained "Code Geass". and in order to complete the immortality, he MUST be killed. That's why he asked Suzaku to kill him.
2. Also, in the last ep., Nunnally touches Lelouch's hand while dying, revealing his past memories, like with C.C. When Lelouch touched her that one time.

at fact 1: It is possible that after taking the code it remains dormant and the geass is active till the bearer first death. Hence the condition of dying before becoming immortal. In case of VV+Charles, causing a fatal wound was enough. That is equal to "causing" a death.

Fact 1: How exactly the code is activated is never revealed so it's difficult to use as evidence, but in the series the code is taken as the previous CODE OWNER dies (not later), and it is never proven that the GEASS USER must die, Charles is not shown dying in order to take VV's code and CC is questionable.
Fact 2: True, but the montage may be metaphorical, Nunnaly may be realizing Lelouch's intentions and the purpose of his actions, not actually reliving his memories.

Hint 1: I've watched the entire series several times and I believe Lelouch would die if he thought it would give Nunnally a better future (living would put her at risk) and Lelouch specifically leaves Suzaku to watch over her.
Hint 2: Whether Lelouch dies or not he severs the bonds with his friends, apart from CC (so I don't see how living is crueler), but it is shown that after his death his closest friends realize his true intentions.

at hint 1: technically L. died in the eyes of the world, if he is revealed to be alive his plan fails. He disappeared and no one (except for CC) knew he had the potential to become immortal. Not even Spinzaku, who was there when Charles died.
at hint 2: As I said no one knew he can become immortal, also the thing that "living is more cruel" comes from CC. whose only wish for hundreds of years was to die.

Hint 2: I'll leave it up to the viewers to determine whether or not living for eternity in peace with CC is crueler than the ("Collective Unconcious"), but either way I don't think Lelouch's death was meant to be a punishment. It was meant to show that he does not value his life more than the lives of those he sacrificed for his ideals.

@Dion101dixie No contract between Lelouch and Charles. You have to trade Geass for Code, can't have both. Double eyes mean max level Geass. Mao had it, but he wasn't immortal (You fail). He asked Suzaku to kill him because he passed the mask of Zero to him to continue the legacy, Zero had to be the one to kill him, hence "Zero Requiem" .Lelouch had no communication of any kind with Nunally. She just realized what Lelouch's real true intentions were. Director, writers confirm his death. GG.

To be fair the author himself said he was dead but there is a lot of evidence saying he is alive however what u show was not the evidence one was photo shop and the other was just 2 eyes under a hood the real evidence would be how at the end of Ep 25 he ask Suzaku to be zero and Suzaku answer saying he accept this geass saying maybe he has the power to give geass which would only lead to the fact u have to have the code to grant geass powers to other people and having the code means u can't die

It bugs me when people assume things. Everywhere, i read people saying that "of course he was pulling the cart. who else would would c.c be talking too." Well she talked to Lelouch's mother through most of the anime even though she wasnt there. I kinda like the fact that they gave the cryptic ending. The anime creators didnt want to make it obvious he was dead they wanted it to be a mystery. Maybe he was puling the cart, maybe she was talking to him though C's world, Feel free to speculate.

His code activated when he was stabbed by zerozaku. Remember when CHarles was shot by LElouch?he was knocked out. His code then activated. Also when C.C got her code she was knocked out. When lelouch was stabbed his code then activated.

You dont need a contract with someone to have both Immortality and the geass. He took the geass from C.C and code from Charles why do you think the show is called code geass? look this is what i think there is a chance that he is alive
1.When charles died he had attmpted to kill lelouch with his geass but failed to complete it therefore tranfering his powers as well as immortality onto him
2.At 0:30 her head slightly tilts toard the rider after she says people with geass are lonely and that is not the way that it was meant then she spoke to lelouch but it also seems she is talking to the rider as well

lelouch is alive, c.c have a contract with charles, thats why charles can get c.c codes...so imo lelouch get c.c code and c.c gets charles code, the code of immortality can only be activated after you died..If you can remember in c.c memory where she gets to get the code of the nun who give's her geass, there where a scene there that she is soaked in blood i think the nun killed her to activate the code and then killed her self so she could die...anyone agree

In the end it is left up to the viewer to decide, I don't know if any of these alternate versions are accurate but I thought that CC's words were an implication that his consciousness still exists. Sort of in the same sense as his mother earlier in the series, if you notice throughout the series CC will have conversations with Marianne and she almost always ends them with the word Marianne. This could parallel with her final conversation and ending "isn't that right Lelouch.
