  • my mom wants to get rid of one my cats an get an austrsailian Shepard Any advice?

  • Why do you have to get rid of one of you're cats?

I have four Australian Shepherds and 4 cats.. They aren't really bothered by the cats apart from when they are younger when they might try to chase them...

  • Think you are responding to someone who made a comment on my site - I never get rid of cats except those in rescue and adopted into good forever homes.

  • Aussies and cats can do great together=- the trick is never allowing the dog to chase a cat- thus the cats don't run and trigger the herding/prey instinct for chase in the dog... everyone is happy ! Good luck

  • @AshleyTisdale0708 i think it is surely up to you in the long run. If your mom only wants a certain number of pets, then i think it's a big decision you need to make. But i do think you should convince your mom to either let you keep your cats, or to try and make room for both. Good luck hun!

Oh and to whomever put this video up. It's a free world, anyone can comment.

  • great job breeze, but the cats are the real stars of that video though! lol :)

  • so you like the cats !? good for you, me too!

    thanks for your comment

  • i had an aussie foster who had seperation anxiety-took me 6-8 months to help her live a more healthy and normal life, and then i found her the perfect home. I love the cat with the white tipped tail.

  • That cat is "Pepper" and is full of personality. Great to hear your heartwarming and success story with the lucky Aussie! kudos to you !!

  • You do fabulous work! My partner and I are in the process of opening a dog daycare, boarding, behavior and education center in Boise. We are building a special are for rehabilitating rescue dogs. We are Aussie addicts and would love for you to continue sharing your work with us.

  • Thank you so much ReneesDogs13, I am flattered by your kind comments. My best to you in your new doggy business. It must be very exciting ! Can only imagine what a thrilling time this must be for you. Good Luck! I do hope to get around to posting some more clips in near future.

  • if my dog looked at that cat hed already be out of the leash ahaha

  • thanks for the comment.. here's a tip for dogs and cats, My dogs are NEVER allowed to chase cats, therefore the cats never run from the dogs, which is what really usually is the trigger for dogs to chase cats(the movement triggers prey or chase instinct ). not a 100% cure but works here pretty well.

  • That's alot of cats

  • yes it is ! we also operate a kitty rescue and santuaury... the "Sugar 'n Spice Feline Hotel"..

  • Thanks.. good for you. Check out my other clips if you are interested in rescued Aussies.. Last April I started with 7 (Breeze in one of them) all rescued from a horrible puppy mill. Aussies are awesome, aren't they?

  • Good on you for rescueing that dog. My wife and I are Aussie lovers, we have two. He seems to be happy, good job.

  • Oh my, thank you. Breeze is learning confidense as she is terrible shy, skittish, with many phobias having come from a puppy mill where she was terribly deprived for all of her life. Yes, I am training her myself. She is very smart. The training is not actually about teaching skills but for her to learn to trust me and gain confidense and security. thanks for asking about her.

  • Breeze is a great dog and he was taught well. Awesome video!!! So cute! Did you train Breeze yourself? if so, good job. Wow!

  • dibublitz, thanks for your comment. You are sooo right. How astute of you to notice. The cats provide a huge distraction but are also totally non-aggressive. BTW we do have a small " Kitty Rescue= thus all the cats. The small white building in background is the Sugar 'n Spice Kitty hotel...again thanks..

  • Great video. You couldn't have a better place to practice obedience then that. It's like a cat ranch!
