  • oil change will correct this sound?

how do you fix the upper one - any manuals? I am good with cars - but never messed with engines.

  • its one of the timing chain tensioners....I would get it fixed because it my be the upper one which is an easy fix... the tensioner itself is 60.00. If this isnt checked it will cause the other tensioners to malfunction and when its a lower one you will have to do more work to get to it or pay way more if you have it serviced

  • uuuuh ohhhhhh...

  • @219garyind

don't worry, it's not my car. do you think I would ever let my engine bay get that dirty? you can eat of mine

  • @importroller nope u wouldn't...lol but they need to get that fixed or adjusted at best...The chains just pull not come off the car right?

  • @219garyind the chain is fine. I think she just wasn't changing her oil, and the guides and tensioners are giving the rattle because of the low oil. I'm going to have her do a oil change ever 1000 miles to give it a chance to fix itself before opening the timing chain cover to replace any of the guides

  • @importroller oh ok,yeah you gotta change that oil that's the life of the engine...
