  • When a turbo goes bad it blows oil because excessive oil clearance in a worn bearing. Burning oil is blue, not white.

  • FLARES FLARES!

  • you know he was just deploying his smokescreen attachment gosh pay attention

  • everyone else that would see that on a motorway would speed past it not slow right down to film it and say "thats a turbo taking a dump".

  • and he keeps driving, it will stop when it burns all the oil and locks the engine lol

  • @sublimedward It was 11:45 and only 6 miles to the nearest McDonalds....whattya gunna do?

  • @55chh @55chh i would not use a phone or a radio or walk for 15 min for a tow truck and destroy a 25k engine. is that the answer you are looking for?

  • I was expecting a huge bang, black smoke, valves, pieces of manifold, oil and all other sorts of shitty engine shrapnel to shower you and your car and then the differential to explode, wheels to fly off and crazy things to happen. Suppose I expected too much from this video..

  • I'm actually going to say head gasket, or EGR cooler failure... if it was the turbo that blew, you'd have black smoke from the fuel, if it was oil from the turbo and trying to run away, all he has to do is stuff it in high gear and stall the truck.

  • turbo taking a dowmp

  • @ evolutionx lmao hahahahahaja

  • omg lol

  • obvious sign to stop

  • @NEWBKlNG stop and let his hot asphalt he is carrying turn 2 a brick in the back if it cools stopping not a good idea

  • @NEWBKlNG it is not possible .. engine runs on own oil... search "diesel runaway" on youtube ;) ...

  • doesnt seem to be a turbo o\issue.more like EGR valve failed.

  • @polarpol turbo blades explode, engine runs on the oil producing thick white smoke, its obvious what happened

  • A TURBINA FOI PRO PAU !!!!!!!!!

  • I wonder if the truckdriver even noticed that lol.

  • hes just covering his tracks

  • That's blow head gasket. Blown turbo will blow black smoke.

  • @ugaugawoshawosha ...but either way it ruins the engine to scrap if you deliver the load anyways... all for a load of asphalt, i wonder which is more expensive...

  • @ugaugawoshawosha yup & white is coolant

  • And that's how we get clouds in the sky.

  • cummins

  • I once had a fart that smelled like this truck looks.

  • I saw this happen to a semi.. Its quite entertaining..

  • You should be shot for false advertising. When you tell me theres an explosion, I expect to see a fucking explosion. Asshole

  • Turbo takin a dump, huh? Looks more like a leaking EGR cooler, blown head gasket, or cracked head to this mechanic's eye. That's steam coming from the stacks, not smoke.

  • This is what u call a turbo taking a domp haha

  • head gasket blew not no turbo

  • So it turned into a fog machine?

  • i think that the truck wants to be a coal locomotive

  • you in the Miramichi ? NB CANADA MIRAMICHI ? cause the radio statio sounded like the river

  • turbos have weird poo

  • Why is it putting out so much smoke if the turbo blew?.

  • @halflife103 Some turbo chargers cools using engine oil. So when the turbo is blown, engine oil will mix with the over heated turbo which now has no proper cooling medium and burn the oil up, causing the thick smoke. After some time, the engine most probably will have no more oil for lub...

  • @zonghans oh, that makes sense.

  • @zonghans if it were oil it wouldn't be white

  • @zalexzftw Yes, it would be white for burning of engine oil. Black is actually incomplete combustion. Remember how those petrol engines that burns engine oil and u have to top up the engine oil every time? White smoke! Also, this ain't exactly burning...but its like vaporizing the oil at super high temperature. Over heated turbo chargers can go over 1000 degrees celcius and when oil touches it, poof!

  • @zonghans you forgot that oil turns blue, and i know black is caused by running too rich

  • @zalexzftw @zalexzftw Blue smoke is caused by somewhat a much more serious problem in the engine. To proof that it is burning engine oil, watch the video labelled on youtube as pAKno3Tzdyc

  • lol yyyyeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa redneck

wtf is wit the music also hahahahahh

  • No. The turbo already took a dump. What you are doing now is trashing the rest of the engine. Way to turn a $1000 turbo replacement into a $10,000 overhaul.

  • @kladivous not quite...that engine will run without a turbo all day just fine...maybe with a large amount more soot, but it will be fine. The grey smoke spewing out normally indicates a blown head gasket though and that will destroy the engine with enough coolant being compressed. Can we say "cracked block" or "piston holes"? haha

  • @xXnocturnumXx Running a diesel under high load with no boost can cause extremely high EGTs. Even to the point of melting the exhaust valves.

  • That asphalt and the trucker's job is worth more than the entire truck. The truck is a company write-off and any damage or blown engine can be fixed later.

  • Forrest ?

  • that guys smoked alot of weed

  • sucks for the road crew when the asphalt goes cold

  • why are american trucks(lorrys) so terribly built compared to european lorrys?

  • @ilovtuners Because driving from one side of europe to the other can be done in 15 minutes on a toddler's tricycle. Our trucks haul HEAVY shit for millions of miles back and forth across a huge continent, and keep going. Turbo blew, so what? New one.

  • @wc4pwned no its just ovbious that european trucks are much better built and european lorrys do haul heavy loads u spa! my dad and uncles lorrys most of them are 480hp single axle daf xf's volvo fh12's and scania 164 v8's and them lorrys pull 4 axle lowloaders with lorrys weighin up to 40tonne and more and they pull them without a struggle but them shitty US lorrys there all double drive 380hp what ever size trucks im sorry friend but european lorrys are the way to go!!!

  • @ilovtuners Detroit Diesel - DD13 470hp, 1650ft lbs... DD15 560hp, 1850ft lbs... DD16 600hp, 2050ft lbs. Just because it's made by some european chode doesn't make it higher quality. Japanese make the best gas engines. Americans make the best diesels.

  • @wc4pwned im not on about an american engine i know detroit diesels are great engines and japanese make great diesel and petrol engines .but what im on about is the actuall lorry itself american trucks arnt as thought out as good as european lorrys for example did yea's never hear of air suspension?

  • @ilovtuners have you ever heard of the acert cat c-15? insane amount of power and great fuel economy...put that engine in a kenworth or peterbuilt with a 18 speed allison and its pretty much a done deal. Not knocking euro "Lorrys" but if you dont know anything about US rigs it isnt wise to put them down. I assure you that a c-15 powered KW with even a super-10 transmission could pull any european "Lorry" all over the planet. Nice try though

  • @xXnocturnumXx scania V8 new or old will run around america all day only stoppin to refuel i'd say and alot of people would agree with me the best truck goin!! especially the 142 143 144 145 164v8 models

  • @ilovtuners The scania V8 is a tried and true engine, however, I dont know of many european truckers that haul heavy for 2k miles. If so, I imagine that it would be a very uncomfortable ride in a lorry. This is why most US rigs have a cabin built in. I will still go with a KW/cat all day.

  • @xXnocturnumXx you obiously never been in a DAF cab ye could live in them cabs there that comfortable

  • @ilovtuners I do really like the idea of individual cylinder heads on the scania V8 though, cummins uses the same idea on some of their i6 engines. I just dont see a 16.4 or 14.2 liter V8 turbo diesel being all that efficient though, the part I find humorous is that the c-15 cat has 2 less cylinders and creates just as much hp and torque =) both are great engines though. Scania I think of as the Mack of Europe as they are very similar designs with longevity

  • @xXnocturnumXx ah mack engines are good yokes aswell we you to have 2 renault magnum lorrys 95 and a 94 with 560hp mack engines in them and they were some lorrys to go ,up hill in them yokes no bothers with it atall and with a full load on aswel

  • @ilovtuners you have no idea what you are talking about, until you do stfu!!!

  • saw title: I was excited. Saw video: go fuck yourself.

  • @anthjm01 I read your comment I was STFU!

  • @anthjm01 what did you expect? lol this si youtube...

  • Thats definitely not a blow turbo. Blown turbo would be pouring black smoke and sparks, iv seen my buddys blow in his 2JZ-GTE. Thats a blown head gasket on the dump truck.

  • Some of you guys making comments on this video know exactly NOOOOTHING about diesels. Get out in the real world with a load that has to be there, and you will understand why that guy keep pushing along instead of stopping....

  • and a dumb ass driver causing visibility problems on the highway, shut it down!

  • @wcresponder he cant shut it down man, he has a delivery of fresh asphalt that has to be warm when he delivers it, or he will not get paid for the job, you ignorant duche.

  • @MrGrazzhoppa Hey no need for name calling.Nice to see where you place safety. He's going to be out alot more if he causes an accident. really not cool buddy.

  • @MrGrazzhoppa i think the safety of him and other people using the road is more important than him gettin paid for 1 load!! u ignorent spastic

  • @ilovtuners ever seen what happens if they dont drop the load of fresh asphalt? It pretty much ruins the bed and will need to be replaced...not to mention how hard it will be to remove it. Safety factor: see his hazard lights?

  • Asphalt is over $90 a ton now

  • I just barred up.

  • I Love Stevie Nicks

  • Thats actually a headgasket, not a turbo.

  • @Turbo617 exactly

  • @Turbo617 That's what I thought too, maybe its both?

  • @turbomonkey36 That Is Possible . The Turbo On My Cummins Did The Same Thing And I Found that Bolth Head Gasket And Turbo Were Blown .

  • @MtnCamper59 I had a centri s/c and when it blew, all I got was bluish black smoke. Guess the rich tune over powered oil lol.

  • Did it run away?

  • Just think.. if you wouldnt have fucked your sister or mom last night this wouldnt have happened redneck

  • @idfcpissoff So anyone who drives a dump truck is automatically a redneck? You're a fucking idiot.

  • YAYYYYY Destroying the O-zone. XD

  • @str8lucks2000GT You beleive the Ozone gov scare tactics dont ya? yea. let them charge you to live Send more taxes to them.

  • @adam3176 Its a joke calm down

  • That guys a disgrace to "professional" truck drivers.

#1.. If your truck is spewing thick white smoke, and going slow, DONT KEEP DRIVING.. pull over and call a mechanic you retard!

  • @siqbrah Puhleeeze. If you got a 20 ton load of hot asphalt in the box, stopping isn't the best option. By the time the mekanik shows up, picks his ass for a while, decides he needs to run back for parts, you got a load of asphalt that's not gonna fall.

  • @rottenbyron Ive had to deal with half a dump truck load of asphalt that hardened. The truck quit running in the middle of the drop.

  • @rottenbyron road calls pay double time usually soo of course im gonna pick my ass for a while ... i need to make money hahaahaha i could give 2 fucks about the driver... i got him by the balls ... pays to know your shit

  • @siqbrah ead the discription above the trucks hauling fresh hot asphalt and its time sensitive stoping isnt an option unless the driver wants a box full of cured ashpalt and a useless truck even after its repaired sheesh use dang common sense the driver is proly driving slot so it dont damage it any more than it already is

  • Smoke grenade!

  • Have any of the non beleivers on here actually had experience with blown turbos on big diesels?....

This IS exactly what a blown turbo looks like when the driver is too stupid to shit it down.

  • Nice to know this wasn't taken that far away. When I heard the radio announcer, and the name 'The River'.

  • he just smokin something its all good lol

  • white smoke means not enough fuel so thats not a turbo that would be a number of fuel delivery items if the turbo went it would look like a snoop dog concert

  • Northern IL ????

  • its probably the turbo seals that are worn and letting oil inside

  • Thats what happens when cowboys drive Trucks they don't own ... PREVENTIVE MAINTAINENCE works ...

  • @stuntrider15 Haha!! Don't you love when people who know nothing about this sorta stuff try to teach you something you already know?! I'm 17 and I can guarantee I know more about engines, 2- and 4-stroke, diesel nitro and gas, then they do. And no I'm not normally a cocky lil bastard hahaha

  • TURBO LAG!

  • Turbo Blown and its pumping oil into the exhaust real quick

  • @TheBigben1969 I agree. unburn't oil vaporizing in the exhaust pipe. Just what would a guy do??? drive and risk ruining the engine, or save the engine and let the asphalt harden?

  • I don't think that's a turbo, blown turbos pump oil into the engine, which means grey smoke. White smoke like that is actually steam from coolant, so I'd check the head gasket first. ;)

  • @Drive4Jesus its the turbo. guess you dont know much about diesels or turbo's in general do you?

  • @stuntrider15 Yeah guess not.

  • @stuntrider15 Usually oil smoke is blue. Unless its water cooled as well its most likely not the turbo.

  • @sponsoredcrx another idiot that knows nothing about diesels.....stick to your honda shit ricer boy

  • @sponsoredcrx yer but if theres was a shit load of oil being burnt what coulour would the smoke be?

  • @mattattack2088 Water being burnt is white smoke. Oil being burnt is blue smoke. Fuel being burnt is black smoke.

  • @sponsoredcrx 1. Water doesnt 'burn' it turns to steam and disapates pretty fast. 2. Oil being burned is a slightly blue gray 3.Fuel is burned/combusted when your car is running.

  • hear the hazards going off in the background haha

  • I dont think the turbo blowed.

  • um i thought if no turbo it would be black smoke because i had vacuum controled turbo on a 6.5 and the vac pump siezed so i turbo or alt or power brakes or water pump that sucked and it was all black smoke

  • YOU GOT A PURDY MOUTH !

  • FUCT.

  • haha stevie knicks...

  • I hope he made it to where he needed to go...that really stinks.

I've had to scrape asphalt out of a rig before and it sucked.

  • possibly just a runaway diesel

  • 7.9L Ford?

  • you fuckin redneck...

  • @MrTravis316 and people wonder why i dont speak

  • nice radio song

  • that...blows?

  • I think this is the aluminium from the turbo, after a short while oil starts to get in and then it becomes black and after that oil gets inside through the air intake and the pistons brake

  • siboire parke toi a coté du chemain

  • Ask the driver what was he BBQ'n? LOL

  • Looks like injectors to me... Lack of air doesn't cause white smoke.

  • @billyjack70 no but all the oil that was ment to go through the turbos center cartridge is now going out the rear seal into the exhaust and burning..

  • @MattyVLT Wouldn't it burn grey/black then? I have had injectors go out on my truck and it definitely looks just like that.

  • @billyjack70 Black is fuel (Diesel or Petrol), white/blueish is oil. This is oil burning.

Ive never had an injector go on my diesel motors, maybe they are oil fed also so it would be basically the same oil burning result?

  • @MattyVLT I have common rail injectors. I haven't tore into the motor but is significant blow by so I suspect there could be a hole in a piston.

  • I bet there are two Jamaican´s in that truck.. No turbo problem!

  • was this in north carolina?

  • Looks more like fouled injectors to me..

  • And you were recording this why?

  • i bet the driver could barely see to drive let alone breathe we had one go in a 78 international cab-over it sounded like a bomb going off and the cab was full of smoke I was 9 years old and the passenger my mom was driving it happened in the 80's

  • looks like a typical dodge engine with 75k miles on it...

  • @fattony123082 whow someone had bad experience with dodge... If they are too bad im sure they wouldn't offer lifetime warranty on challenger R/T ? I have a mustang but chrysler builds reliable engines...

  • @W4TCH4W A warranty doesn't mean much today... If you read the fine print your must have the dealer do ALL inspections + maintenances + keep all reciepts... I keep seeing blue clouds of smoke from tailpipes on dodge/chrysler/plymoth minivans every time under 80k miles!!! or how about sebrings engine issues with the too small of engine oil ports causing there engine to be killed by sludge... seriously... i'll admit ford / chevy have there issues but it seems constant with dodge etc..

  • @fattony123082 Sounds like a typical Ford or Chevy fanboy. BOTH my Ford and Dodge have been outstandingly reliable...

  • @mopar43v3r 1990 dodge caravan with their shitty electronic shift tranny... 7 transmission under 75k... C'mon!!!!!!!! *stands back and snaps his suspenders*

van not even 2500miles lost its first!

  • Lets Bring Ford 4.9 ltr... 300 straight 6 back!!!!! can't be killed!

  • @fattony123082 oh yes it can.

  • @fattony123082 id say a 4.9 is a little small for a dump truck

  • nic sie nie stało

  • bahahaha his hick accent.... xD

  • ....lol

  • that truck is trying to get the world high :)

  • puff puff pass...

  • well theres IRELANDS ,.. carbon restrictions ,.. wasted lol

  • is a choo choo

  • "this what you cawl a turbo taking a DUMP" ahaha

  • Dump trucks .... Now with steam power.

  • He just put seafoam in his engine that's what happens white smoke.

  • hate when that happens.....

  • Guys, seriously look up Runaway Diesel in YT and have a look at the videos there. Several buses will come up with cat and cummins engines and you'll see the similarity. Coolant in the cylinders in a big diesel would cause steam to piss out from under the bonnet as the engine over pressurises the cooling system; like 300psi. This is a failed turbo, and the engine is running on its own lubricating oil. You can turn the engine off and it would still run, you either kill the engine or clutch.

  • @mad4diesel even if it has a 5/8 oil line the oil would not flow directly it would have enough air mixed in it plus enough diesel that it would probably burn just very rich I think that you should be less concerned about hydrolock and more concerned about burning the engine because of a lack of oil

  • White smoke! White smoke! Long live the New Pope!

  • @genenco1 Habemas Papa!

  • Nope, it's the coolant in the combustion chamber. Either the head or cylinder let go.. Simple as that..

  • Thats why Hawaii's roads are so shitty. that asphalt was for us

  • Clearly not a turbo problem! He has serious head problems! That's coolant burning.. Know it well..

  • @Klperformance68 When the turbo explodes the oil for the bearing will be pumped into the intake and make it smoke like that from the cylinders being flooded with oil and not being able to burn it all

  • I've had a turbo explode on a cat engine.....smoke was jet black from overfueling. that white smoke is coolant entering combustion chamber. oil smoke is greyish black

  • @justdooit when you try to start a diesel on cold days and when the cylinders are flooded the smoke comes out white. The white smoke it the air fuel mixture vapourised but unburnt. Samething here only its the engine oil that was for the turbo bearing is being pumped into the intake, flooding the cylinders. The truck is only running on a couple of cylinders that the oil in the intake hasn't made it too yet, when enough cylinders are flooded with the oil the engine will hydro lock.

  • @mad4diesel I have noticed the smoke is more of a light bluish color when a cold diesel is started, very common and a daily occurrence near the 60th parallel. certainly not thick and billowy like the white smoke coming from the exhaust in the video. the amount of oil sent to the turbo bearing is nowhere near enough to hydro lock a cylinder let alone 6 of them.

  • @justdooit My T800 has a 5/8 oil line going the the turbo and it has 30 psi oil pressure at idle = a lot of oil considering the bearing wouldn't be there to restrict the flow after it blows up. It only has to have enough oil to fill the quench area between the head and the piston of one cylinder on the compression stroke to hydro lock.

  • @mad4diesel you must consider that the oil must travel all the way from your turbo into the air to air, and then into the engine. it would come through not as a solid liquid stream but an aerated mixture of air and oil. gravity would have an effect as well, the oil would try and fill the lower spaces in the air to air as well as the intake tract. many turbo bearings have failed on our fleet, never once have they runaway or hydrolocked.

  • No its not stupid, that's coolant in the cylinders under fire! Turbos failing smoke black!
