I always wondered where the rental vehicles from MI went, because when we were looking at a used car for my sister, we saw a lot of cars that the carfax said came from FL, most of them, were also rental cars. (we ended up buying from a private seller btw).
and your tool seems useful, but from what I've read in the comments if you come across an aluminum, or plastic car your tool is really useless.
You don't know what else has been damaged in the crash. There might be cracks in the undercarriage. Also that car may never hold a proper alignment. Most likely, all the dealer did was make it look pretty and didn't bother to even inspect anything else just to save money.
So because it was rear ended it's an unsafe vehicle? I understand the point, but come on. Just buy a new car and avoid this if you're going to say no to a car having a door replaced.
I would love to buy a new car, but 80% of people can only afford a used one. This one was going for full book value with accident damage, the door was NOT replaced, it was plastered with filler! IF you are going to Pay through the nose for a used car wouldn't you want one that is in tip top condition?
Car dealerships have highly trained people specifically looking for damaged vehicles that have a Clean History Report. They buy cheap damaged cars, fix them and sell them for a very large profit to the unwitting public.
From years of experience we have found 50% of accidents are NOT reported to the Agency's.
The Vehicle Crash Tester is surprisingly accurate. Grateful Used Car Buyers from around the world have been letting us know how it saved them from buying a Wrecked and Re-built Death Trap!
The Car Reality, Vehicle Crash Tester is a specially calibrated flexible magnetic device. When it is used on a vehicle with steel panels, it will accurately inform the user if the vehicle has been in an accident and rebuilt using plastic cement body filler and new paint. Good point made!
About 95% of cars are made from Steel! which this tool will work on.
Certain makes have Plastic Panels like Saturn.
Many sports cars are made from aluminum, carbon fiber or even glass fiber!
This tool is specifically made to help working class people, so it is applicable to most cars out there!
Thanks for your contribution!

the only thing that the car reports are good for are vehicles that had service at a dealer, not a guy in his garage.

you didn't test panels passed the faulted one. how can you say its been in a bad accident??
for all you know the door could be from a different vehicle all together.
I do agree, you have to be careful of the auto dealer

I assumed it was going for a middle end used car price when I made that comment. I agree with you!

OMG its Stan Morri Ford in Tracy, CA...total rip off artist
rowdy916 2 years ago 6
Was the car dealer really trying to rip you off, or was he going by the carfax data?
Why was carfax data incorrect?
How reliable is that magnet?
