  • @baloneykidfat it is a calypso but you might have learned it a different way

  • aw her voice

  • looking at this and trying it.... i finally learned how to do a calypso

  • i agree with how shes doing it, she should be more laid out though.

  • PEOPLE WTH DO YOU THINK A CALYPSO IS because thats exactly it the arms just might be diffrent so stop bitching and learn it

  • Umm EXCUSE ME!!!! This IS a calypso jump, but YOU PEOPLE are just used to being WAYYY closer to the ground, and legs all tight and weird. This is the PERFECT and PRECISE way of doing it. So shut your mouth, and go to your dance studio and have someone reteach it to you the RIGHT way. K? THANKS - BYEEE!

  • She's way better than I, so i'm not complaining!

    o_O

  • That's not a calypso

  • @tails613 yees it is

  • i think shes pretty good.

  • The tips were okay but she isn't executing very well... But again, haven't we all had amazing teachers that weren't capable of doing their own combinations.. lol

  • they need to paint the walls a different color, if that was my studio it would irritate me. great tips btw.

  • i hate that monkey noise at the begining haha

  • she is trying to teach you i don't think it helps if people r posting mean coments

  • Great demo video. Really clear instructions.

  • Omg thanks so much gfor posting this i am captain of my high schools varsity drill team...but i could never get this jump down till now...Thnk you!(:

  • Omg this dance studio is in my town! so weird!

  • you people need to calm down. wtf is wrong with you people. do you look in the mirror and realize you suck so you figure you would get on youtube and tell other people they suck? seriously get a life and go practice if you are that insecure.

  • @wheelercayla1013 maybe people actually know how to do one and realizes that shes not doing one very good. she is fine but not great...

  • @wheelercayla1013 the ones who talk the most shyte can't dance themselves...if so they would show theirs.

  • guys calm down. if she sucks so bad why did u watch this?

  • Definately helped !

  • thank you so much:)

  • If you guys really hate her dancing, put up your own video.

  • UHH U SUCK AT JAZZ! If it's ur job then mabe u should find a new 1 causes ur TERRIBLE!!!!

  • That is not a forty-five degree angle. the outside angle is forty-five the inside angle is one hundred and thirty-five degree angle. GET IT RIGHT.

  • ive been dancing for 15 years and i think what shes going looks perfect

  • if you stop it at 00:16 it looks soo epic!!

  • she can't dance!!!! she does stuff wrong! if your watching this to get help message me and ill post some tutorials for you! (:

  • @theloveofdance16 I beg to differ here, Ive watched most of her videos, have been dancing myself for 14 years, and teaching for 6, If you think she is doing this wrong, kindly explain to us how to go it right because I see nothing wrong here.

  • @dancinmichi her front leg isnt straght! both for you arms don't go up! it looks slopy! the leg that is bent is the arm that goes up! you arch your back! you dont stay straght up! kk when i post mine you will see a BIG difference!

  • @tdcdancer4ever5678 --- There is really no set place for your arms to be, its the preference of the choreographer or the dancer. Im sure the arch of the back can be achieved in a higher level of dance, but for a beginner, throwing in an arch could seriously injure the dancer. Please remember this is for BEGINNER dancers, not people who have been doing it for a long time like yourself (or so I assume)

  • @dancinmichi but if you have your arms up in the air like that then it looks slopy! ive learned how to do these sence i was 3 from so many different choreographers and thats how ALL of them do it! (: so i think i know what im talking about! ive been in the ADVANCED leval sence i was 7 and if you think that shes doing it right then idk how good of a dancer you are!

  • @tdcdancer4ever5678 You may think you're clever trying to question how good of a dance someone is without knowing their background.. In response to your comment though... Choreographers have the right and ability to place the arms where they please to fit the dance, and the dancer. No where is there a book that says "THIS IS HOW IT IS, CHANGE IT AND I SPITE YOU" cause thats NOT what dance is.

  • she says shene wierd i say: shen-eh she says: shen-e

  • @pai27pai27 Actually, you're the one saying it weird. Also, it is spelled chaînés. It's French.

  • this video actually showed me what i was doing wrong!

  • that is actually a stag calypso...

  • Comment removed

  • dont put someone that dont know how to do it

  • 45 degree angle?

  • is this also called an attitude leap?

  • @TheMisslovly i thought it was a stag?

  • @lakenessa well i guess at different studios they call it different things for examples some people call an extension turn a leg turn. What we call stag leaps don't look like that but perhaps where you dance it could be called a stag

  • i don't think yours are that pretty to be absolutely truthful.

  • i will never be able to do this!

  • I love calypsos! @malloryrose2 mmm why are you all up on her nuts, you comment something negative in every video stfu already!

  • @yellowwxD I hate how little kids are using this for help but when they go try out for something, they are told they learned it wrong.

  • Please don't sickle your foot...other than that great job. I havnt seen those arms before either I like them.

  • Pause at 1:41 she looks like a retard

  • @Shreece2010 Is that what a retard really looks like?...think about it.

  • you have to do your chineas ten times faster to get any air. AND your front leg does not extend. IT RON DE JAMBES! goshh get it rightt.

  • @malloryrose2 First of all, it's chaîné, and rond de jambe. If you're gonna try to get mad at her, sorry, it cancels out with your wrong spelling. Second of all, you kind of have to extend your leg in the rond de jambe en l'air regardless of what she's teaching. Sorry, reevaluate your dance terms and technique.

  • @asdfghjklalf First of all, I'm only in eighth grade and I do not know how to make all the accent marks with my keyboard. Second of all, yes you have to have your leg straight and locked in the air but it doesn't just pop out. It rond de jambes around. Otherwise, you're doing some weird kick thing and that's not proper.

  • she says we turn... turn then leap, well she turned, turned turned and then leaped. she cant even do it how shes teaching it!

  • Is she sickling her left foot at 0:50? I'm just wondering. Other than that, good job. I <3 calypsos!

  • why do they always talk like there talking to a 5year old o_O

  • @evenvy1 Because it's easier to understand this way. Personally, I do understand better when they describe every single move! lol

  • i love this jump its so fun to do... my favorite

  • thnx

  • her releve chanee turn is super slow and then her plea chanee just gets like super fast... its so funny! great job on that leap i love calypsos :)

  • i like it better when one arm is moveing around your head during the jump that how i do it!!!!!

  • her arms are bad. they are low in the prep and in the leap they are floppy. her back leg also isnt very high.

  • her arms are wrong, it makes it look funny

  • these are my favorite leaps! i love to do them SOOO much:)

  • good explanation.. thanks

  • Yes! my Clipsos are finally much BETTER! thanks!

  • well, kristyb12345678910, this is an american video. so yeahh there is probably going to be defferent terms...

  • very nice!

  • we call these attitude leaps

  • This is what we call calypsos where I dance.

  • its called a baryshnakov.

  • @NOdontShoot there are many names

  • this is not right. people who dont know dance shouldnt post this stuff

  • A Calypso Is One Leg Is Straight And The Other One Is In Attitude

  • it doesnt look right

  • uhmm, i live in Australia and ive been dancing for 14 years, we call them leap turns with straight legs...

    lol wtf is calypso.

  • This turn/leap is done with one leg in etitute. One isnt straight.

  • uhm chaine turns are done in second position..your doing soutenus

  • yeah thats what i thought too

  • @AndSoHeDanced no, they are done in a very closed first position. u wouldn't try to do those fast turns in second that's redic.

  • @dancerers12 i was referring more so to her preparation..you wouldnt prepare for this kind of leap by plieing in a closed first position but your right the faster the chaine the tighter the position..but either way this video is wrong..

  • @AndSoHeDanced theres nothing wrong with her preparation.

  • @AndSoHeDanced this is one of many ways to prepare for a calypso, its how ive always done it

  • preeety
