  • 240p? Wtf is this? Africa?

  • Japan did it first, so what? Can't the American fans do it too? Japanese people liked baseball so much they started their own league, we are supporting an American Touge.

  • touge = too gay

  • @jimecee Better than driving in a straight line only.

  • @wajalama im not saying drifting is gay im saying this video is gay and for those of you that take the term gay too literally what im saying is that this video is a joke.

  • @jimecee jemicee = gay

  • @EverySocondOfMine look at you Mr. Clever, spelling my sn wrong when its right in front of your face.

  • @jimecee thats because i dont spend energy in gay peep like you

  • that's how you use and abuse a skyline!

  • just kidding...you thought! cuz i thought...

  • i got this movie few years ago.... and it was disappointing

  • ww.. im pretty sure that the united states were NOT blessed with the most amazing canyon roads...

  • Touge = Mountain Pass

Last time I checked ... Canyons aren't mountains.

  • @VortexProducer Close enough.

  • @bob333336 Not at all.

  • @VortexProducer Yea it is, you haven't been to Little/Big Tejunga, or Angeles Crest have you? trust me, its close enough. xD

  • @bob333336 Does not matter. Touge = MOUNTAIN PASS a canyon while the road may be twisty etc. Is still a fucking canyon not a fucking mountain therefore not touge.

  • damn american retarts driftin originated when keiichi tchuya (cant spell his name properly) started driftin down mountains in the late 80s in his ae86...then he took it to the track and everyone laughed at him cuz grip was the big thing in japan then ....eventually other people started tryin it and it evolved from there....this is the reason why keiichi is called 'the drift king'

  • it didnt start with him he just made it popular drift started in the 20's to improve times in the rallys around europe it stayed in rally for years then japanese street racers picked it up in the 70's all keiichi did was get good and put out one of the first videos "pluspy", and keiichi wasnt even the first to bring it to the main stream it was Kunimitsu Takahashi and his apex techniques in the "all japan touring car championship" so just learn your shit before you comment on others

  • @jtkeegan1231 ur right i completly forgot about the apex techniques :/ tho keiichi was mostly responsible for what drift is today

  • @jtkeegan1231 Well said!

  • @somerandomaussie No. Keiichi Tsuchiya started driving mountains in the 70s in an old C10 skyline. He didn't drift so much on the mountains but, he did for car control practice. He joined the Fuji Freshman series in 1977.

"Drifting" or power-sliding has been around since the 20s or 30s they used to drift on tracks like Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Keiichi had his race license revoked for drifing in a race which is against race rules. The spectacle is what made it popular.

  • @VortexProducer I thought he started in a Toyota Trueno AE86, I would well be wrong though :p

  • @theamazingbear There's a Best Motoring special on Keiichi its fantastic you should be able to get it on DVD somewhere.

  • what car was shown at 2:40?

  • Mini Cooper S

  • f ur on bout da onboard camera dats da new mini and just after is da BMW M3, r a 3 series at least

  • @leo3k shitty s2k

  • ok it aint tailgating its called drifting mann

  • that subaru is ugly as fuck

  • @1DAMO69

ur face is ugly as fuck

    subarus are amazing machines

  • They were amazing machines until they destroyed the looks with the new model....looks like a bloody ford focus, fucked up big time, they got it right first time...shame :/

  • HAHA its sux This is touge Drift? sombody saw touge drift?halo...

  • is this a joke??? because im damb sure touge was invented in japan

  • calm down dude.. touge is a name not something that was invented. and yes the touge is a japanese word originally referring to japanese mountain roads, but i guess it can apply to any mountain road good for racing

  • @ForualKid

give me an academic paper with your position on whether touge originated in japan

  • Touge is a Japanese word bro.. touge = mountain pass racing, which DID originate from Japan, as they are basically empty at night,.

  • @S1ppy

i have no siding on whether it originated in japan or usa so i dont really care

and touge doesnt have to be at night, it can be at any time of the day

  • Thats not what I was implying, I was jut saying how it started..

  • "The true story of Touge in America"

    LOL, it's a joke right?

  • haha canyon touge was invented in japan...the best drifters in the world

  • those mountains look like azusa canyon

  • That y they said canyon!

  • Haha, these guys can't drive for shit...

  • pooooooo video, saw about 3 drift scenes the rest was crappy subaru's.....yawn....dime a dozen in the uk! nice place to live tho!

  • my dad races here

  • D1 Drifters have nothing on touge. If anything tougue drifters are more skilled as they don't have the option of a wider corner. Unlike D1 drifters, the D1 races I've seen in here, the corner is so wide that is so boring! Touge, now thats where the action is. Because, there is no line for error. once you enter that corner, you have to get out, or face the wall/rail/cliff. AWESOME! I LOVE THIS VIDEO! Shows the true nature of drifting and racing. 5/5!

  • just to let you know, most D1 drifters learned in the touge retard.

  • i was refering to the AM drifters and the AM drift spots during the comps. Look at them and you'll see what I mean.

  • touge is most definitely more difficult and without a doubt more fun but its less open to spectators which is why D1 etc draws crounds and will always be much bigger

  • yeah but those few that watch a touge race, its a site to see. Usually 2 cars racing down or up the touge and its skill. I've seen one myself, and still cannot forget how it was. I also went to a D1 comp. and honestly, it was alright, a few thrills, but not as much as the touge. Hearing whats going on through a walkie talkie and watching them come at you then around the corner (sometimes drifting) the adrenaline rush is so awesome!

  • that scooby with the huge rally lamps looks so awesome. I want one!

  • this is from the movie: CHASING THE TOUGE.

    it features CANYON RACING.

  • american touge suks watch japanese. but those ppl who are smart enough to touge instead of ASScar, those ppl i have respect for. not bad yanks but not great

  • wow ur retarded, this isnt nascar, say what u will about nascar, but just cuz were american doesnt mean anything, u dont have respect for anyone by saying that

  • who cares what nationality they are? They love to drive like any of the other drivers?

  • as much as i hate yanks, this would probably be a wicked dvd to watch.

  • this is not japan, get it over with

  • That's why I love car and racing. When driving everything blows away: race, nation, religions etc... There is nothing more than a couple of guys enjoying the same thing. Skills vs skills. Nothing else involved.

  • It's also the kind of attitude that makes Americans, well Americans.

  • "whats it like being being beaten in your race car.. by my show car?"

    lol

  • I wud luv 2 drift. Ill do it smday and Im American so wat American haters go suk a dik and drink the cum afterwards, u and ur mothers.

  • Thats the kind of attitude that makes people hate Americans.

  • actually I was appealing 2 the ppl that already hate Americans.

  • But thats the thing, alot of you show so much agression and it gives you guys a bad image.

  • O thats just the way we are, including towards each other, but that doesnt mean we hate each other. Besides some of us get that way cas of the ppl from other places who hate us that are always tryna one-up us. So we dont really find another option. Mix that in with some misunderstanding and vwalla.

  • Stereotyping sucks, im English and i drink tea... apparently.

  • lol unlike some ppl I've actually been to England. Yeah you guys drink tea n all but I find some of u r actually pretty good drinkers when the time comes. But then again I heard the drinking water's not wat u'd call "clean" so I dont blame you guys and I wudnt use it 2 curse out another English guy that I found myself arguiung with (which I have in the past cas he was an American hater 2 but I never resorted to cursing, just used very good logic 2 bring him to his knees).

  • I only know one person who drinks tea and he's very, very old fashioned, we drink alot of coffee and cider.

  • Oh. I hear the price for that(tea and other beverages) is very high (like 5 pounds or something like that).

  • Not really.

  • yeah seriously.

  • While it may not be technically correct to call it touge the fact is anywhere you go that has twisty roads will have people who like to and are good at driving/racing on them. The only issue with originally I could see is that everyone uses the japanese terms now.

  • It is is funny how everybody uses "touge" now. Guess it's cooler to say something from another languge than to just say "canyon".

  • And what's with all of this hate against Americans? I always thought drift was for anyone who liked it. It's all in good fun right? I thought it was just cool to see that we actually have good roads. Most of the roads that are "driftable" are usually hard enough to find. Darn our linear road patterns!

  • whether you are american or japanese has nothing to do with drifting. drifting is all about your dedication and experience. Tsuchiya has been do this stuff since the 80s so he is obviously going to be amazing. its new to americans but the longer they do it the better they'll get. don't make it a racist thing cause its not, its an experience thing.

  • That was way over dramatized! "where you know screwing up is not an option?"...C'mon, give me a break. Leave the real touge to the japanese. By all means go out and have fun but don't make this out to be something it is definately most not. Some Americans are incredibly lame.

  • Wow. The Japanese come up with crap like Initial D that completely over dramatize and romanticize drifting.

These guys are just talking about the thrill they get from breaking the tail end loose.

This has nothing to do with nationality. Get real.

  • Ok maybe i generalised, but when I see these american wannabees all over the internet its hard not to form an opinion. They are try hards.

  • dumb comment ur gettin good at these c this is how u really talk damn hipacrit

  • sigh* sorry to break it to u guys but ...white ppl r trying to become more azn (somehow) i'm just surpize that they didnt start growing out there hair yet haha ... *Yellowfever~

  • japan is where the art of drifting was invented. also japan does have better drivers, take keiichi tsuchiya for example. americans do have good drivers also but they have nothing compared to japanese drivers. just stick with nascar :)

  • yes japan has better hills for drifting but me living in california we got some kickass mountain passes so you cant all diss like saying yes they started the sport of drifting but we maybe more new to it them the japanese but we got some killer drivers show some respect to the american drivers to

  • sorry to break it to you, but american drivers suck

  • thats not true man

  • its so true.

  • Im American and i agree with them, almost all of our drivers arent as good as them.

  • didnt drifting evolve from a japanese racing driver??? he began to use the sliding techniques to go fast into a corner and keep the same speed out....and consequently that guy won a lot of races.....i think thats how it started im not too sure tho

  • that keiichi guy said he did it to make the races that he won more interesting instead of ppl just seing him win all the time...thats what he said in an interview

  • I dont belive that statment is totally true to an extent yes, he did it in multi class racing when he was driving an 86 hiatchi what ever its name is, anyway during that race he was keeping up with the other class which was alot more powerful then his car and still contending for position also done during the rain. He did what had to be done to keep pace

  • if yer tryin to say he drifted to keep up to speed with the others....driving round a corner is faster than drifting it

  • This isn't always necessarily the truth. Drifting is faster in some corners and not in others. It depends on the situation really. And yes, Keiichi Tsuchiya drifted the Toyota AE86 in a race and is, by token, credited with being the first man to ever drift a car in a circuit event. This doesn't necessarily mean he was the first EVER.

  • the '86' you're talking about is just a Toyota Corolla/Sprinter

  • That one guys definition of "how drifting started is wrong"-all wrong!

  • touge in japan is better

  • Fact. Americans cant drift.

  • Fact: there is no Chin under Chuck Norris' Beard. Only another Fist

  • dam vikeings hhehe

  • the people who were drifting on the touge were the guys from team falken. and the black s14 was dai's personal ride

  • nice somone a had a turbod s2000 out there sic....

  • as for me i don't need to be white or black Asian or brown to drift and burn, the love for speed and cars doesn't have to do where i come from. If u like it then do it no rules!

  • it sucks that in LA drift is not as famous or popular as in other places, believed me I been out there and i cant find more people like me into drifting, im not a professional but I can go side ways and I would love to see more people getting rwd and 5 speed cars rather than the regular Honda civic hatchback! as for now all I see is the boring drag. come on people where are u?? 1995 nissan 240sx

  • u should go to new jersey, heard there are alot of drifters there, including Vaughn Gittin Jr

  • omg there are so many stupid comments here! drifting is a sport for everone and every where.where trying to spread the sport and here we have people who dont even race talk shit. not kool, if ur a real enthusiast then you would want to spread all aspects of the racing scene! get ur heads out of ur ass people.

  • Omg this video kills the drifting

    GO BACK TO NASCAR

  • ur all idiots im as white as they come and my 340 bhp Mr2 is just as fast as a 180 sx through the turns. Notall us white folk like big blocks so fucking grow up

  • OMG!!! white boys got the D1 champion now this? whats next Gum tape race pretend they are the drift king..can the U.S have some originality please =( oh nvm they got nascar =D

  • I NEVER SAW A S2000 DRIFT

  • Hi,are you guys from california?

  • Why? People shouldn't branch out?

  • hhhhm i agree man no1 beats the japs drifting skills

  • SLIDE AMERICA!! i love that movie

  • ive seen the video this trailer is for, its horrible, waste of an hour.

  • lol i go to those canyons mon-sat its packed with ppl!!!

  • i perfer sliding sidewayz on those other slopes from the other vid...

  • lol I prefer your old togue drift battle

  • I would so love to check out that touge...Just seeing those cars drift is inspiring... :)

  • In this vid, white people is not suppose to be in mountains, they're suppose to be in drag strip. All they care is how big is they're engines are and makes the car heavier.

  • Thanks, fucking racist

  • it is, but the japanese would rape on the touge, any touge

  • Good racing doesn't have to do with nationality.

  • except drift XD

  • Thats true. Americans still think bigger is better thats why you see vipers and mustangs in the american D1 series where in reality the japs know that a 180 bhp AE86 would annihilate 500 american horses on the twists any day of the week

  • exactly ^^

  • Yeah, your comment is a year old but:

    I'm American. I drive an AE86 with 70WHP, and I love it.

  • Thats perfect. Hachi's dont need much power.

  • I think the Scandinavians are (in rally/drifting) on par with the Japanese.

  • Das true!

  • omg that echo or w./e it was was assss dragginnn

  • Yes tsuchiya is getting old but a master will always remain a master. remember he started all this. Its like how Wacko Jacko made famos the moonwalk, it was original but he made it big. =)

  • i still think that keiichi tsuchiya is the best drifter in the world

  • sorry dude, tsuchiya's getting old. the top drifter is KAZAMA.

  • so what if keiichi is getting old hes still the king, and he could probably OWN kazama, the king will only step down when he is physically not able to drift..

  • nice but i like the other touge drift video better, it really made me feel good in the inside....
