Before people like Nick Serota, the British art scene was a paracial backwater.

Mark Leckey, who won the 2008 Turner prize, makes generous and engaging work, as opposed to The Stuckists who seem largely to make naive painting that intends to mock the establishment. It does not offer anything to the viewer nor does require any thought on the part of the viewer.

While the Turner prize is base, the stuckists are 'stuck' A further reflection of this sad affair, is the political arena, where there to is an empty vessel of thought and original vision, as is the bulk of art. What about the conceptual art project that 's sole purpose is to attack conceptual art abuses - "Snake Oil" video. Is it great conceptual art ? It's opposed to the excesses of conceptual art, the Turner Prize, etc.
