how long do you have to wait before you put it back in its vivarium? handling it too soon will cause it to regurgitate right?

@airsoftwannabe618 the term "handling" more refers to holding and messing with the snake for more than the couple of seconds it takes to put him back after a feed. just wait until the food has moved down past his lungs and you should be fine to just pick him up and put him back in his viv.

Thats very interesting to watch. I was wondering if corn snakes would eat bird eggs in captivity. Do you know if they can and will eat like store bought eggs or not? Is yr dove eggs fertile eggs or infertile? You've got a beautiful Amel corn snake. I have one as well he's just over 2 yrs old.

Leave the dude alone if he feeds snake a sickly dove that going to die anyways it no worse than letting the worms devour the bird when it dies so stop being pricks about it.Circle of life people you live you die one death is no better than the other you still end up food for something.So chill out.

how do you get your snake to eat the dove eggs. i tried feeding my cornsnake some quail eggs with no success. yet my cornsnake will eat the baby chicks. before u say something about me being cruel, understand that i only feed the babies that are on the brink of death and are suffering. trust me many of the baby quails are either weak or sickly and will die. it is natures way to have predators come in at that point and eat the weak or sickly. it's natures way of showing mercy to the dieing.

@boamaster200 Some will just eat them, others will get started if you rub a mouse on them. :)

BTW nature is just a concept invented by humans trying to personify our surroundings. Nature is not the sort of thing that is capable of mercy or cruelty or anything else of the sort.

@alpine691 Do you think that wild predators catch and eat all of the healthy prey animals and leave the sick or injured or otherwise weak ones alone? BTW he didn't say sick, he said sickly. If you deal with the miracle of birth/hatching on enough occasions you will find that birth defects, congenital weaknesses, and failure to thrive are a lot more common than we'd expect from our experience in modern society. Something is going to eat them, whether it is predators, insects, or microbes.

Ur dove lays not fertile eggs because it does not have mate(male bird that fertilizes eggs) to fertlize the eggs

@sharonvinco Thanks for your advice but they are accompanied by plenty of males too. They are almost all frosty doves. Frosty is lethal when homozygous so 25 percent of the eggs are bound to not hatch just because of their genotype.

@ChariceBillboard It's a fact of life that female doves lay eggs. Lots of them. My doves lay hundreds a year between them. If they all hatched I would have millions of doves by now.

If you actually care about animals then put some energy into understanding what they are and how they make a living in this world.

People are so funny, asking whether eggs are dangerous. Egg shells are very thin compared to bones, people, and snakes eat their prey whole!

i heard that some snakes use trees, or anything they can get around to break the eggs so they can digest it. I'm not sure if that's true or not.

OMG Tiger is beautiful and gorgeous! I really want a corn snake, I've seen some at the local pet shop but my mother is freaked out by any snake. I can not wait till I get a snake. Though I like Boa's and Python's as well...hmm....

hi i didnt know they could feed on dove eggs, iknow they feed on quail eggs. i am undecded on whether i should treat my corn snake to a quail egg or not. my snakes identical to yours =)
