Reading the bible is simple if you read it in it's full content and quit trying to tear it apart everytime some reads it. It's about finding facts not faults. Science has failed us all at times, big bang theory for example, there has to be a better explanation than that. But people beleive that. It's just something we believe in and it's all a choice that we have if we believe in our Creator or believe whatever it is in whatever religion. I stand firm with the Bible but I DO consider the other side of things. How do we know how to interpret the Bible besides literally? It's THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD. We have no idea what the people who wrote it really meant or what they were thinking. There are so many different versions of the Bible, hundreds of thousands, that have significant differences.

Last time I checked kids who were homeschooled were smarter than public schoolers, thank you, because most of the pub school kids are too busy with their AWESOME social life to pay attention.
Well I went to public school and while I did have a social life and I didn't do homework.. I did ACE pop quizes as well as tests. I scored 12+ in reading comprehension in the 5th grade (CAT MAT). I paid attention to trained professionals (teachers), not mom and dad.
Oh and if by luck you had a, or have a highly intelligent mom or dad that can teach you. GOOD FOR YOU!
I still recommend public school or a really good private one, Non religious of course.

There are even those people that attempt to guilt people into believing, which I can't stand either of those approachs. I personally understand why people are standoffish toward many christians, alot of the time christians come across to forceful. Reading the bible is simple if you read it in it's full content and quit trying to tear it apart everytime some reads it. It's about finding facts not faults. Science has failed us all at times, big bang theory for example, there has to be a better explanation than that. But people beleive that. I agree with you, but I would not go so far as to use the vulgar language. They believe what they do because they're scared to die and hope they go somewhere where they'll be happy, even if it is comparable to slavery. I have over the past couple years examined several aspects of many different religions, I have come up with my own set of things I believe to be true, I don't follow bare lines, then again, many Christians like to make shit up as they go along, anyways.

It's just something we believe in and it's all a choice that we have if we believe in our Creator or believe whatever it is in whatever religion. It doesnt mean we're afraid to die, because i know many religious people that are actually not afraid to die. It's the opposite for them they believe God will protect them, and they believe that even if they die God will still be there.

How do we know how to interpret the Bible besides literally? It's THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD. We have no idea what the people who wrote it really meant or what they were thinking. There are so many different versions of the Bible, hundreds of thousands, that have significant differences.
You can pretty much take it to mean anything you want. That's what everybody does anyway.

people have messed with it...so you're right, in a sense. I don't think people should be fearful and not happy and not be allowed to be themselves. I do, however, think there is something higher. This may change in time as humans are only observers, imo. And the only thing constant is change. It's one of those things that's like a 5-part answer but certain tweaks will always be made

Well I went to public school and while I did have a social life and I didn't do homework.. I did ACE pop quizes as well as tests. I scored 12+ in reading comprehension in the 5th grade (CAT MAT). I paid attention to trained professionals (teachers), not mom and dad.
Oh and if by luck you had a, or have a highly intelligent mom or dad that can teach you. GOOD FOR YOU!
I still recommend public school or a really good private one, Non religious of course.

@caveman73 the parents don't exactly teach you, mostly the books. and i may go to public school to finish high school, not sure. and if u dont do books of w.e for homeschooling you can do public school online, which is about the same as normal public school because the teachers teach you sometimes.
I wanted to attend private school [ religious, of course ;} ] but i live in a pretty small town, and they all went up to 8th grade -,- so i'm too old.

The "caveman" name comes from the way I look not the way I think. I look like a knuckle dragger yet I am in an advanced field, electronics technician, in the US Navy. Which by the way has the 2nd highest drop rate of all enlisted navy schools. The 1st being Nuclear school, but that is way too much homework for the likes of me. Those guys do physics problems for fun. YUK!!!!

Bible as the same importance to me as a moralistic fairytale. It is wrong to manipulate millions to be fooled by a few. But i belive that religion can exist in it's pure state (just like paganistic beliefs). There was no money back there and no manipulations.
