Well if anyone wants to paint quick designs on the wall for the kids room or any room in the house, you can get stencils to spray designs right onto the wall for only 2.95 online at Mr. Hair Art store. They have over 400 designs to choose from.
how do you reduce underspray?? is it normal paper youre using to cut the stencil? Im just learning but cant seem to get a clean spray finnish without underspray.
@treefrog2108 I use spray adhesive. This is cut on normal paper. For one-off pieces, normal paper is much easier to cut than card or acetate, and it's easier to stick down with spray adhesive.
For this piece, I didn't mind a bit of underspray. However it came out quite clean in the end.
Many folk (I would call them art snobs) don't rate stencils, but I believe stencilling is an art form in itself. It can take some time to produce a good stencil.
In my view it's the end result that counts, not how you got there.
Yes. This was just a test stencil to see how it would look when used on a bigger piece. No need to have a thick, hard to cut stencil just for testing.
yeah kinda anti climatic with the stencil being idle... very well filmed and mysterious. I was waiting for it to be used. I am also curious about what type of paper you used. I have been using acetate for my stencils lately and it works alright temporarily then it gets too mucky when using aerosol.

You can have both positive and negative stencils.
A positive stencil is when you cut out the subject so when you paint it is the subject that is coloured and the surround is untouched
A negative stencil is when you cut out the surround so when you paint it is the surround that is coloured and the subject is left untouched.
