It's a real shame that a great majority of Bortkiewicz' work is unjustly neglected ... the ballade presented here is beautiful ... a good piece of romantic music!

Fabulous, I don't know his music at all, though I am a huge fan of turn of the century russian piano music. I wonder if you play any Medtner? He's my all time favourite - I'm busily working my way through some of his sonatas and tales, so difficult to sight read, but totally worth it
