@ChaoticaMortis yep, smoking, drinking, sleep deprivation, and being stuck in a cramped bus with an alcoholic,, former alcoholic, and a giant keeps you youthfull
@underscoreisnotvalid very wise comment, ure 100% dead on. the intro to hearts alive is a good example, ... along with 3:23-3:56 in the last baron. i don't know which came first, brann's drummming, or the riffs. (referring to all of their songs). they are like ying yang.
Dude!! Did anyone see "Ninja Bill" at 5:15 ?! Troy knocks over a mic stand and Bill grabs it with his right hand and keeps hammering chords with his left !! He's not even looking at the mic stand when he grabs it ! Haha !!
wish they would play more remission live, i like crack the skye but would really love to hear ole nessie, mother puncher, crusher destroyer and march of the fire ants live at BIGDAYOUT2010. but im guessing they gonna b playing 80% crack the skye, and theyr play time is limited and crack the skye songs r really long so ill b lucky to hear one remission song at all!
@Ridethelightnin69 they played mother puncher after crack the skye when i saw them in Seattle for the mastodon-dethklok tour, it was an amazing show that i still think about on a day to day basis lol
you might get some remission. my friend saw them when they came around here and said they played ALL of crack the skye, but like 4 song which he thought we're from remission
i like the way mastodon have grown from the roar shouty metal to prog but man i must admit while the new sound is expressive here on this vid they have a sparkle and energy that they lack live now
I wonder where Bill got his les paul silverburst custom. I mean back then when they didn't have a lot of money he had a silverburst LP that's worth 3,000$ today? He has always used it. Really has become an icon.
@tcbshaded39 I heard his was made in 89', and back then alot of people didn't like them because after awhile the silverburst started to rust and made your guitar sound a little different.
@Darkcheef He has an 82' and a 79'. The 79' never comes out on the road or so he said in this interview I saw.And another that is probably his 89' that looks newer.
If this song was a girl i'd put my willy in her but then go for a test to make sure i hadn't picked up anything weird.. then after the results came back i'd text her lots and ask her to send me pics but never take it further.
I really like this song.. i love the natural reverb on the guitars on the album version.
one of their best songs, the crowd stands still like they should, the music is hard to understand when your in a pit throwing yourself around like a fool
Haha, people are allways saying that the crowd in Mastodon shows sucks, but I think a big part of them is so overwelmed by the music that they just want to listen to it, I mean, it is well-structurated and mysterious music, it owns!
nice save bill!
