Comparing acceleration between the car and the bike does not make sens in absolute terms. The bike will accelerate better at the beginning, when the HP/weight ratio counts, and not as good as the car from a certain speed, when the air friction dominates the equations and the absolute power counts more than the ratio HP/weight ratio.
So, even without corners, the bike will win short runs, the car the longer ones.
@jack818919 ive been riding r1 for 7 years (4 models: 04 07 09 11) and i also own a 2011 mercedes e350. bikes are fun but cars are "better" if you want to use that word. you can ride it in the snow, rain, cold, hot and you can also listen to music in state of art stereo system (good luck with bluetooth if you only have a bike) and whats more, you can travel with your friends or some random girl you want to hook up w/. im still racing but i gotta say if i had to choose one id buy a car.

In all fairness we in the biking world do not have the equivalent of "Super Cars". Our Super Bikes are more in line with cars like the Corvette Z06. This Bugatti is way out of the norm with 16 cylinders, 4 turbos etc. This is partly due to the fact that bike manufacturers need to keep costs down to make them accessible to the general public. Lets take the new 1700cc V-Max engine stick two turbos w/ int clrs and a streamlined body etc. then we'll see the bike spank all 1.25 Million of the Bugger!

OK, the bike has more power per kg!. But it has only one tire to get it on the road and thats a big problem for the bike in the corners. When both acelerates on a straight road, first the bike is faster, but when the bugatti has enough speed, it geht pushed onto the road and then it can bring its full 1001 hp to the road.

Try getting that 180 bhp onto the ground through a skinny tire with only 25% of it actually in contact with the ground as it corners. All you'll get is massive wheelspin. The key to acceleration is power & traction not just power per kg. The all wheel drive Veyron has 4 fat tyres with 100% of the tread in contact with the tarmac to transmit the power to the road.surface.

the correct car for such a race yould be an Ariel Atom. No Luxury; just pure driving. The Bughatti is a heavy monster which, despite the fact that a car can run through corners easier than a bike, can't use all of it's immense power on a course with many corners. So a lighter, less powerful car would be a better choice.
If I was going to be given either the Bmw or the Veyron I would take the veyron. Then sell it and have a garage full of Beastly motorcycles.......and a little run a round TvR sagaris.... :P

I'd agree that an amateur car driver would beat and amateur bike rider. mainly due to the fact that when it comes to bikes everything is waaaaaaaaaaaaay different, you can corner, brake, or compensate for a mistake like you can in a car, especially in a car that has systems in it designed to keep the driver from out driving his/her skill level. That said, with pros behind the wheel/bars, that car will get smoked on most any curvy road. But the bike will get smoked in top end speed.

A Ferrarri 550 Maranello, A CBR600RR, A split window Corvette, several street-legal dirt bikes, and a 4 bedroom house in Arizona with curvy roads nearby. And yeah, one would still have enough left for lunch. . .for years.

Lets clear a few things up. First of all the Veyron will out accelerate any road bike. It's got well over 1000bhp and is 4 wheel drive. It should do because it costs over £1m. Secondly, for those bright sparks who keep *assuming* cars have more grip or better braking etc. >>WRONG<<. MOST cars DON'T and CAN'T. But a good few can. A porsche turbo,say, does NOT have more grip in corners than a BMW bike, but an Ariel Atom does. It all *DEPENDS* on the car. Stop making ludicrous generalisations

the correct car for such a race yould be an Ariel Atom. No Luxury; just pure driving. The Bughatti is a heavy monster which, despite the fact that a car can run through corners easier than a bike, can't use all of it's immense power on a course with many corners. So a lighter, less powerful car would be a better choice.

That bike will smash that car and any other production bike only the 2011 zx10 is even close. Top in the car is faster but every other class it cant hang

I'd agree that an amateur car driver would beat and amateur bike rider. mainly due to the fact that when it comes to bikes everything is waaaaaaaaaaaaay different, you can corner, brake, or compensate for a mistake like you can in a car, especially in a car that has systems in it designed to keep the driver from out driving his/her skill level. That said, with pros behind the wheel/bars, that car will get smoked on most any curvy road. But the bike will get smoked in top end speed.
