  • So Solid Drums

  • pardon my history if its wrong but if Persephone is the daughter of Zeus

as it says above/below does this mean then that Persephone is Kate Bush?

(as in the kick inside 'i'll send my love to Zeus) I also think that When the Levee

is the best ever song sung by a man. I thought the drums were loud!!!

  • @flaxlawna Not sure my friend, but I do recall Kate singing

that in her classic song from "The Kick Inside" :) love those great-

    thumping drums here to :-))

  • my favorite winter CT album....

    and I loved the cat : )

  • @Arpeggio555 Hi there a classic track and classic album :)

Glad you liked the kitty-kat my friend :-))

  • In Greek mythology, Persephone is the daughter of Zeus and the harvest-goddess Demeter, and queen of the underworld; she was abducted by Hades, the god-king of the underworld.

In Classical Greek art, Persephone is invariably portrayed robed; often carrying a sheaf of grain. In Roman mythology, she is called Proserpina

  • @DinaTheNomad Hi there, thanks for that, its cool to find-out

the meanings behind the name Persephone my friend :))

  • before i got posh i thought this song was about a phone in a purse.

it would have had to have been a rather large purse at the time.

    [largesseminisculeisation]

  • @posypity Ha-ha sounds good to me, big purse,lots of money :)

  • When the levee breaks - Led Zeppelin

  • @hindsighter Cool my friend :-[)

  • @shum65 I've always loved the drums on this C Twins album but didn't know that they'd been sampled from John Bonham's Ludwig drum kit until a knowledgeable friend of mine told me 2 months ago.

  • @hindsighter Hi there, I so agree, the drums were amazing on this

album, and stood out for me to, I didnt know that either about the

John Bonham's Drum kit sampling, cool :-))

  • psh i got all these songs on lock

  • @stoopiddub333 Nice one my friend.!!! :)

  • @shum65 gettin close to being able to play all their stuff on bass and guitar ;)

  • @stoopiddub333 Really wow, thats brilliant mate, have you uploaded

any videos yet? keep the good work up !!! ;-)

  • @shum65 awwww man that's such a good idea, but i don't have enough money yet to get a proper camera with a nice mic for stuff like that yet :(:(:(

i'll start working on it tho, i feel left out with everyone posting their vids and stuff. all i got is some songs up that i like and some of my older music that i made. once i get it together i'll dedicate a whole profile to Cocteau Twins tabs for the masses so yall don't have to sit there for hours like i did to learn them all lol

  • @stoopiddub333 Hi there, you could even use your iPhone if you

have one, tbh I use a cheap digital camera, it was only £30 a few years ago.

Once you get started its great fun my friend, good luck with it :))

  • best track of the album for mine! dancefloors used to love it back in the 80's and 90's (really!)

  • @z1rakz1gal Love the hard beat to this amazing track,

Liz's vocals are dreamy here, as too are the guitars classic :)

  • Persephone has the grace and bite of a Latin American girl fallen on bad times in a New York strip club waking up from the nightmare of the American dream.

  • @discoverydavid Hi there, I love your description here my friend :)

  • I saw them here in a church here in Montreal around '91-'92. They filled the entire place with fog and coloured light. I was so overwhelmed by it all I think I cried the entire concert.

  • @ajhoncantara It sounds like a life changing experience my friend :)

  • Jeeez this group never gets old...one of my favs for years...saw them live in a small club in Santa Fe...wish I could of gotten pics...

  • @doncarloregio39 Hi there, yeah like a good wine they get better with age,

Pity you didnt get some picis or some video footage ugh lol !!

good to hear from you my friend :))

  • Shun Do have any live footage that we have not seen?

  • @brndasmth Hi there, not so much footage you havent seen, but I do have

a large part of a concert they did at the Hacienda in Manchester way back

in Dec 1983, but only the audio,no footage sadly, though I think I have seen

small clips of it. from time to time. :)

  • só lembranças boas...madame sata....dancei muitooo e muitooo

  • @vvnreis Hi there, hope you enjoyed this amazing track,

Its good to hear from you my friend. :)

  • Treasure has the heaviest drums of any CT album....but that's not a bad thing. Along with the simply ORGASMIC Aikea-Guinea, all of the tracks on this album just transport me to some place where I feel untouchable..... invincible...... Liz's voice careering up and down the scales just makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand on end.... powerful and delicate at the same time.

  • @busterabcat So right my friend, you say it brilliantly well, those heavy drums,

Liz's amazing vocals never failing to make those hairs on the neck stand-up,

definitely powerful yet delicate, Treasure is indeed a treasure, one of my faves,

and you even mention another fave the classic "Aikea-Guinea" pure dreamy bliss.

How can a band be so good, but they were are are...thats the Cocteau Twins :)

    Great comments my friend..!!! :D

  • @thenewfella1994 yes, beautiful song. She has such an amazing voice. One of my all-time favorite albums. This is usually my favorite song but it depends on my mood...love pandora and lorelei too!

  • By far, my FAVORITE Cocteau Twins song! My friend & I saw them at the Paramount in the late 80's early 90's (can't even remember..lol) but of course it rained and it was a perfect, beautiful spring night for us all. They brought the rain with them. Such an amazing, super original, enchanting, mystical band. Love, Love, Love them then as much as now.... Timeless music...

  • @freeradt Hi there my friend, sounds like a magical time was had at that concert..

love your comments about the band, I totally agree with you, Timeless Music....!!!

Thats so true, we love them more than ever today, an iconic band indeed :))

  • @M1ManOwaR Hi there, its a cracking drum beat and vocal to this classic,

Glad you enjoyed it to my friend. :)

  • @thenewfella1994 partly

  • This is fantastic. It seems hat tthe majority of the 4AD artists have this delirious aesthetics and mystical appeal... But definitely Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins are the top of them!

  • @obscuredreamer Hi there, yeah thats true, artists from the 80s 4AD years

sure did have a more magical and mystical aura, agreed DCD & CTs rule..!!! :)

Great to her from you my friend...

  • @shum65 Thanks for your kind response. Receive a positive hug. Carpe diem!

  • @obscuredreamer Ha-ha, many thanks my friend, sending a positive hug back :)

  • fuck i am LOVING this song!!

  • @MsMetalBabe100 Awesome beat, love those drums & guitars, and that voice is class..!!!

  • This song comes like a mythical mystery with my favourite singer presenting the best song of the Treasure album

  • @queenfishingking Excellent description my friend, Treasure is a mighty album, luv it..!!!

  • ...and the kitty's name is Persephone.

  • @ZephroCornellan Meow...purrrrrrrrr lol :)

  • @markandyuka Cheers my friend, glad you enjoyed this brilliant track too...

An early video for me, I hadn't learned how to turn of the noise from my camera-

  • @christykroeg Hi there my friend, I, m so pleased you enjoyed this amazing track,

just love that beat here and those guitars along with Liz's awesome vocals... :))

    Great hearing from you christykroeg.....!!!!

  • I like this even better than the first time I heard the E.P. it was on.

  • @locomotifx Hi There, its a fantastic track your so right, those drums, that guitar riff,

and of course, Lizs amazing vocals are brilliance.....glad you enjoyed it my friend....!!!! :))

  • @shum65 And thank you for providing it! i haven't had much luck finding their earlier, more guitar-based stuff, which had its own charm; you know, the really early stuff, pre-Head Over Heels. Used to have it on E.P. but that was a long time ago! Any ideas?

  • @locomotifx Hi there my friend, yeah you mean their first album "Garlands" its awesome,

I,ve got all their songs here on my channel to that, along with their early singles such

as "Perhaps Some Other Aeon" & "Alas Dies Laughing" or "Feathers Oar Blades"

"Hearsay Please" and "Dear Heart" they're all on my channel, check them out my friend,,

Have fun listening to them all, its so good to hear from ya......!!! :)

  • @shum65 Indeed you have! Cool! Perhaps Some Other Aeon is such a classic. Like any other 4AD stuff?

  • @shum65 Oh - Persephone was on 'Head Over Heels,' actually, wasn't it?

  • @locomotifx Hi there, "Persephone" is taken from the "Treasure" album,

Its good to hear from you my friend, have a great weekend.....!!!

  • buenaso chvere!!

  • @tronicjhon Hi their, good to hear from you my friend, I,m glad

that you enjoyed this amazing song......

  • It always stunned me how on the same album Elizabeth Frazers' range could be

so varied as to go from the melodically beautiful almost enchanting quality of a piece

like Amelia then to encounter the utter boldness and sheer power in piece like

    Persephone where Elizabeth rocks! Breathtaking!!!

  • @blainebill39 Hi their, thats so true about Lizs vocal range, she

has the softeness of an angel, yet can belt out awesome and

really powerful vocals such as on this classic track, Its so typical

that I read of how Liz herself lacks confidence in her own vocals

and lyrics, that to me is the true sign of a real talent...as we both

know, shes one iconic and very talented lady,,,as to are the band.

    Many thanks my friend.....!!!

  • I love this song in an indescribable way even being truly impossible to understand what it says. =P

Anyway, I also liked it a lot the short appearances of Liz Fraser during the video! ^_^

    Awesome!

  • @gusmilano Hi their, I too love not knowing what Liz actually says,

it always adds that air of mystery and magic around her songs..

I,m pleased you enjoyed those clips of Liz in the video, it was an

early video for me, but great fun to do it, many thanks gusmilano..!!!!

  • @gusmilano (LOL)I can't understand 3/4 of their lyrics either, or sometimes even which language she's singing in! Yet it doesn't seem to matter, does it?

  • Dug Liz's new tune.

  • @lithographer64 Hi my friend, yeah, "Moses" was a brilliant track,

Wished she would release her new album soon, shes a very gifted,

    and talented lady....

  • Jeden z moich ulubionych utworów ulubionego zespołu. Szkoda że mało kto już o nim pamięta

  • @jacekzbz Hi their my friend, its great to hear from you, I love this
