Something needs to be done to control their population, they are a menace to society if they are not maintained. Hunting is a way to control it in a manner that is profitable, safe (for humans and the deer themselves), but also an enjoyable family tradition. Hunting is necessary.

I'm a hunter and I eat what I kill.I make sure it's quick. Ever watch a hawk take a rabbit? That makes me squirm-it isn't as quick as you would think! As for you hunting bashers out there-do you get all teary eyed when eating a hamburger,chicken fingers or steak???

@esosj you know I have read several of your comments and have actually become quite offended. It seems to me that you have not really ever ventured from the city. I will admit that some hunters are only in it for the trophy, although far mor are in it for the meat, I think you need to research your comments more before you make them. you are using a very stereotypical debate and in the real world will not get you very far. I am a very traditional hunter.

I would like to see him after his antlers develope like in the fall. this footage was obviously shot while his antlers are still growing would be a nice trophy later in the year

not every body kills for just sport. its a great sorce of food. antlers are always secondary in my book, though the trophy is a great reminder of a sucsessfull season. Dont hate the player hate the game. were all only human. just becuase your food comes off a store shelf and come from the mountian shelvs of mothers natures grocer, if i could plan my own funeral I would have my skull bleached and passed on like an earn, then wuold save $ by haveing my body chucked to the coyotes.

wow, you do not think about logics do you? Realize that hunters do not hunt to "kill" or just for the sport. It's great, clean food that is naturally harvested, and wait there's more! Buying ammo and tags pay for Fish and Game and the forest service, to maintain the forests you hump so rigorously! Also lets talk about Population overgrowth...too many deer = starvation, disease, and a very painful death....all in all, I think hunters win this logical "sport"..or lifestyle...thanks for reading !

Wow, do you realize how arrogant and ignorant it is to claim that all, or even most hunters hunt for those reasons? They do make nice excuses though, now don't they!? I am not claiming all hunters are douche bags. In fact, I do recognize early tribal hunters as being some of the most noble characters of their time. However, in this day and age, that sort of character is far from many. Perhaps you should use some logic instead of generalizing hunters, and rationalizing brutality.
