This may be a stupid question, but... I'll ask anyway... I thought this was a Gameboy game, yet it has colour? I don't really get that... Does the add-on for the Gamecube have an upscaler that adds colour in, or something? That'd make the most sense.

The Gamecube's Game Boy Player plays all Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games.

Also, this is a Game Boy game, not Color.

@roxas680 Wario Land 2 had two versions, a Gameboy and a Gameboy Color Version, Wario Land 3 is for Gameboy Color, Wario Land 4 is for Gameboy Advance. There is another Wario Land 1 for the Virtual Boy, but this is the first game where Wario is playable

I used to have a Wario land game, the only thing I can remember about it was that there was a level where some small enemies start un-screwing a tap. Water pours out and floods, what seems to be a castle.

1. This was my first non-camcorder Let's Play, not to mention the first video of my first Let's Play. I was still trying to figure out what was the best set-up was and how to obtain the best quality. This was made almost 2 years ago after all.

2. The Game Boy Player had a widescreen option, hence the stretching. When I first did it that way, I thought it looked better because there was less blank around the border.

Yeah, I figured, that nobody is complaining, because nobody ever complains about wrong aspect ratio. It is not only that people don't care about it - many don't even see that, for example, a car has oval tyres.

I admit, that I have to be less rude, by why intentionally fucking up the aspect ratio, if you're aware of it?

It's not that I was intentionally "f-ing it up," it's that I didn't know how it worked back then. It couldn't be intentional if I didn't know something was wrong with it at the time. If anything, back then I thought it looked fine. Now that my quality is actually a lot better, I can come back to these videos and notice that I did something wrong. You can't say I was intentional in this case.

Well, there are cases, where people here on youtube instruct other people, how to intentionally fuck up the 4:3 aspect ratio and to stretch it to 16:9 in order to "get those annoying black bars away". Sorry, I didn't mean to compare you to those assholes; my question was rather a hypothetical one. I just am a sucker for the correct AR, I guess.

ah, ok, I think I know what you are saying and where you are coming from now. Once again, I will say that the "squeezing" in this video wasn't due to changing the aspect ratio of the actual video. It was due to the Gamecube's Game Boy Player, since you can change from the normal screen to widescreen by a simple press of the L and R buttons. Back then, I wasn't sure what looked better. To be honest, I don't even know how to change the AR on Youtube (nor do I care to know).

Well, if you change your mind - there are several things one can do to change the AR, after one has uploaded a video on youtube. Of course, it's better when the AR is corrected before uploading the video. But why am I even bother? You don't care and nor do the majority of these visually dull people...

@peepeevagi The fact that I shit my pants has nothing to do with the supposed shape of objects. There are in fact games, which feature oval car tyres, for example Toonstruck for PC, I believe. Howevern, an "expert eye" can recognize, if some objects are supposed to be comically stretched/squished, or if the aspect ratio is fucked up in general. But then again, most people either cannot recognize that (which is a pity) or they don't even give a shit (which is even worse).

There is a cheat to getting 999 coins each level. I forgot how it goes, but I remember that you have to pause the game and use the select button along with others.

Here's a tip to those who want to cross big gaps easily: As you are running, hold the up button on your control pad, then jump. You will do the long jump. It's very useful in sherbert island.

do you remember the trick to extra lives?

Pause the game and press Select 16 times. If done correctly a flashing box should appear around the coin icon. Hold A + B and press Left or Right to edit the numbers for lives, coins, hearts, or time by pushing Up or Down. If you put the flashing box over Wario's head icon and press Up or Start your helmet will upgrade. Press Start to go back to the game.
