Very Creepy joke at 30:03 haha. Oh well, its always just a matter of time until someone tries to figure out how to make an efficient virus. Hopefully there are more people trying to figure out how to detect and disable a virus that is too effective on humans.
Very fascinating and very very scary. And so naiv. Yeah open source and open technology is a little bit of an antidote to prevent this to turn into Frankensteins dream and humankind's last night mare. Without overcoming the for profit system there is no way to keep this from ultimately doing more destruction than anyone can imagine . I am very afraid of the 'unintended consequences'. The guy is deliberately immature, making a show of having no respect for anything. I don't trust him: no ethics.
And then he completely blows off the entire issue of food & genetic engineering!!! Did anyone ask all the farmers who commit suicide if they thought it was a good idea to buy seeds that grew plants that don't grow more seeds, rendering them helpless to be sued by Monsanto who then steals their farm and they slaughter themselves, their families have no patriarch, because of their own shame of not being able to make these freak crops grow, which were never meant to grow in the sense that we know
He acts as though programming dna technologically is somehow more advanced than programming it with consciousness. The earth was not in mortal peril before so called technological advancements. Sure, it sounds neat. So did plastic.

hmmm this Andrew Hassell guy seems to have a total disregard for how biological life has developed. If cats were meant to glow in the dark, maybe they wouldn't need our help. Who is to say these genes aren't gong to compromise the integrity of the living things?
"Nature's already figured this out, its called genes"
You'd be surprised, what nature has already figured out. We need to start looking at what came before us.... hence "standing on the giants that came before us"
think the joke at 30:03 isn't too bad
